They didn't say bathroom. The news indicated it was in an area under the cockpit as evidenced by smoke alarms going off.

I salute our military for the inauspicious duty they inherit. But the difference in me and you is that I don't support the policy in which our kids are dying for.

Actually, Fox just had a guy on, a pilot, who explained that an electrical fire in the avionics compartment under the copilot seat could cause exactly that. Slowly burn and heat things up, smoke fills the pilot compartment before they realize it, they try to respond too late, it breaks up with erratic flying.

So, you know, get your head out of your azz.

I'll second this.

However. Airbusses are computer controlled airplanes. If it was in the E&E compartment, there is no telling what would happen. I won't speculate.

It's a Boeing or I'm not going.

No. Had just gotten home and surfed. Seems everyone else was talking about something else at the time. So I watched Greta talk about these new developments and ask the pilot, hopefully, if it was terrorism.

He answered hard to know now and explained. And of course he was of no use to her plan at that point, so he was quickly excused.

He was just a pilot, not one of their commentators or "news" people. Greta wanted him to say the new facts point to terrorism. When he didn't, she pushed his ejector button and he was gone.

Daresay, we won't see him on Fox again anytime soon.

So, Fox had zero idea what he would say before they brought him on? I'm sure that he was told what he would be asked, and they knew what he was going to say.

I don't think so. It had the feel that he was previously scheduled, and as he was put in place on the show, the news about the additional developments came out.

So, when she asked him if it meant terrorism, you could hear how excited she was that she might be the one to have a pilot say that these additional facts indicated terrorism !

Her hopes were dashed when he told the truth. So he was gone.

Just a question of curiosity, IF this turns out not to be an act of terrorism, will anyone eat crow and admit they jumped to a conclusion, or will it be, "well, it wasn't Muslims this time"? This isn't a "I told you so" question, and I still have an open mind on what happened(terrorism or freak occurrence). I'm just interested if anyone thinks they heard "plane crash" and automatically blamed Muslims?

No one will eat crow. The really nutty ones will say any conclusion to the contrary is fabricated. We have a handful of such folks here.

Most will deflect, as you suggest.

But who knows, maybe it was terrorism. I'd have thought someone would take credit for it by now.

I've known a few. 99% of them were pieces of **** and the 1% told me why they were. BTW one of my SIL is 1/2 Muslim on her fathers side from Turkey.

Yes. I know a very beautiful woman of Pakistani descent and she is Muslim. She is very Americanized, if you will, and if you just met her you would not know her faith.

I've never seen her discriminated against. She's super hot. Probably helps.

Or how long do you think it would take "ground crew" to add some "prohibited cargo" - perhaps in the nose gear wheel well while everybody else is busy looking for bad apples among the passengers?
