Thanks, Duncan.

Roughly 80% chance of beating Florida, according to FPI. And even better odds against 8 other teams. Wowza.

At the opposite end, 56% chance of being the Dawgs, that is according to FPI our toughest game. Those 3 gauntlet games are all in the 50s--UGa, A&M, Bama.

Gonna be another tough October. Hopefully this time a fruitful one.

Go Vols!

If they lose to A&M, we've got problems.

15-0 or bust.

Wrong. Have you seen some of the teams on our schedule? Just because Butch pulled in two top 5 classes doesn't guarantee a win against the likes of bama and Florida.

Would be a damn good year if we go to the SEC Championhsip with a chance to go to the playoffs.

And before you "blast" me or anyone for being "weak and pathetic fans," you need to temper your expectations. Yes, this team could do GREAT things, but you act like if we don't go 15-0 it's a horrible disappointment.

Agreed, Sure would love a slam, but SEC footballs sometimes bounce in strange and unexpected ways. 12-2 or even 11-3, would still be a great season, meantime I'll dream about 15 and hope they make it so.

Forget recruiting rankings. Those kids are already on campus. We've seen them. We know who can play and who can't.

What's special about those classes but especially 2015 is that almost all the top rated guys have panned out or look like they will. And a lot of lower rated guys have surprised.

I truly believe this is the most talented team in the country.

If Butch can't win with this LOADED squad, we'll look back in 5 years and wonder how he couldn't.

There are potentially 30 future NFL players on this team. It will be humiliating to not win it all.

Agree with most of this, but with a tough stretch like we have between (and including) UF and UA, any team, no matter how loaded, could fall.

why? i don't think anyone really knows how good or bad aTm will be. plus it's at Kyle Field. i think if we lose there it just means we lost a tough conf road game. nothing more.

i do that with Fulmer for the 95-97 teams we fielded. talk about loaded. those three teams were stacked, and while we had good seasons, only 1 SEC title. we were so spoiled back then.

This is wrong on so many levels. Even Saban doesn't win the NC every year with annual #1 classes.

Butch has increased the win total every year by two. I'd say an 11 win season would be a great year, with anything over 12 even better.

You act like all those other teams we play don't have rosters loaded to the brim with talent.

Amen.

Never, ever expect an undefeated season. It is so rare, it's completely unreasonable to expect one.

Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are arguably the two best coaches in college football today. In 20 seasons as head coach, Saban has had one (1) undefeated season. In his 14 years at the helm, Meyer has had 2. So the very best in the business combine to produce 3 undefeated seasons in their combined 34 years...that's about 9%...one out of every eleven years, on average.

Hope for an undefeated 2016 Vols team...cheer for it, pray for it, wish for it, shout for it...but never, ever expect it.

It is a rare gift.

Go Vols!

E ASS P N knows where the money is. They want your viewership. They want to build hype and drama. They want a story at the end of the year like "The much touted Tennessee Vols once again collapse in dramatic fashion."

Win first. Keep your mouths shut and your head down and prove it in the field. Then you can start boasting.

If we walk through October without serious injuries, with all of our horses still in tact, we grind out wins in at least 2 of those games and could very well end up in the playoff. We need Bama to lose to us and someone else. We are not deep enough yet to beat Bama twice in one season. I do not want to see them in the SEC Championship. It might actually work out better to have them as the only regular season loss and beat them in the SEC Championship. That would be a guaranteed ticket to the playoff.

I hope we beat the cocks by five touchdowns. I didn't care for Coach Aneurysm when he was at Texas, but after his comments postgame 2014, I wanna embarrass that a**hat.

can we at least get to ATL before we start deciding which scenario best helps us beat Bama....

That's a little much. I feel like making the SEC Championship game should be expected and winning the conference should be considering a very successful season. So if the team goes 11-1 regular season (Bama is only loss) and wins the rematch in the SEC championship game and then loses in the playoffs, its humiliating. Its not fair to say that.

making it to Atlanta, really regardless of the outcome, would still be a successful season.
SEC title, playoff etc...would be icing on the cake, and far from what we should "expect or else" this season.

again, i think we are putting the cart way before the horse. a computer generated FPI in May his hardly what i'd call "punching our ticket".

it's may and some of you have fast forwarded to December and are wondering what would be better...to lose to Bama early and beat them late or beat them twice or hope we play anyone else in ATL......

anyway...that's the kind of stuff we can slow down on as far as i'm concerned.

Wait a minute... :eek:hmy:

ESPN says the Vols will be favored in every game. That sounds like they like us.

What the heck is going on here? :dunno:
