Do they enforce laws and city ordinances? Do they respond to public disturbances? To serve and protect..

Then yes, it is their job.

There is no law making it illegal for teenagers to swear. And teenagers swearing inside private property is not a "public disturbance", it's a private one.

So no, its not their job.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about. Ever been to Virginia Beach? You can be fined, by the police, for swearing because it violates a city ordinance.

But yeah, cops shouldn't respond to private matters happening in privates residences/businesses because its not their job..........said no sane person ever.

You'll rethink your stance on police the next time your spouse whips your ass in your residence.

I never said cops shouldn't respond to incidents inside private property. I said teenagers swearing inside private property is not a public disturbance.

BTW the Virginia beach law you cited prohibits swearing on beaches and other public placers. Walmart is not a public place. It is a for-profit business, so they should pay for their own store security, not rely on the tax payer to insure Walmart is swear free..

The Virgina Beach law:

§ 18.2-388. Profane swearing and intoxication in public; penalty; transportation of public inebriates to detoxification center.

If any person profanely curses or swears or is intoxicated in public, whether such intoxication results from alcohol, narcotic drug or other intoxicant or drug of whatever nature, he shall be deemed guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor. In any area in which there is located a court-approved detoxification center a law-enforcement officer may authorize the transportation, by police or otherwise, of public inebriates to such detoxification center in lieu of arrest; however, no person shall be involuntarily detained in such center.

Maybe if we did away with food-stamps and welfare people would take life seriously and learn skills or get educations so they don't need a Wal-Mart job.

I got a better idea.. how about wal-mart pay their employees a living wage.

Develop a skill set, apply yourself, seek higher paying jobs.

Can't do it? Rather sit at home smoking weed and playing video games. So be it. Just stop complaining about being "poor" and how it isn't your fault. It's America. It absolutely is your fault.

really.. that's why people who work 2 or 3 jobs are poor... omfg you guys are ridiculous. you guys have zero idea about what's going on around you.. none. the rnc has done a great job at brainwashing the south. luckily the rest of the country, except a few midwestern states, has moved on from that nonsense. And it won't be too much longer until the south is taken over too.. I can't wait.

Does the public have access to Wal-Mart? Yes. That's why the cops will come.

On private property when conduct disturbs others it will become a public matter in the eyes of the law. Take your broken arm chair lawyerin' elsewhere.

Almost. They are poor because they made ... poor ... decisions. That is a fact. But obviously you think the world owes you and the rest of the poor because its "not fair" that other people made good decisions and/or got lucky and you got left behind like a fart in the wind.

I'd love to hear your reasoning why people have to work 2 to 3 jobs. I don't..but that can't be because I've made the right decisions my entire life now can it? No. It must be white privilege, or male privilege, or pay your bills on time privilege, or finish high school privilege, or finish college privilege, or finish graduate school privilege, or not be a moron privilege, or not go to jail privilege. I don't know which one but it HAS to be some sort of privilege right?!

Yeah THAT will fix the burden on taxpayers "subsidizing" walmart! You can't be this dense! Living Wage. What does that even mean? How ambiguous can that phrase get? Who determines a living wage? What if Showwquanda and Cindi Lynn the cashiers at 7 and 8 love Aston Martins? What if they CANT LIVE without one? I guess their living wage should be $150 an hour at least amirite? I mean we wouldn't want to infringe on their materialistic rights would we?

Hopefully this will help you out.

Living Wage : an amount of money you are paid for a job that is large enough to provide you with the basic things (such as food and shelter) needed to live an acceptable life

You can do that at Walmart, you just have to be willing to work hard and take on more responsibility. Some people are unwilling to do that, it's their decision.

That definition is more ambiguous than these guys:

Yet according to your definition Wal-mart workers already make a living wage...Or have I missed the news stories about their emaciated employees starving to death? Do they only employee homeless people? I haven't been inside a Wal-Mart in almost 20 years but I sure as hell don't remember anyone skinny working there..

It is quite interesting how being poor and being obese are so correlated nowadays. In the depression if you were poor odds were very good you were skinny too. Because quite literally if you were poor you weren't eating much. Now you need a "living wage" but you've somehow acquired type 2 diabetes eating all those meager rations. Most people saying they barely get by look like they could miss a week of meals and not be the worse for it.

Ah right food deserts. I guess the water faucets don't work either so all they can drink is soda. They have a mobile farmers market truck here that visits the places where activists are constantly demanding a grocery store move in and serve the community. Prices are subsidized so they pay little of nothing for fresh stuff. What do they see? Embarrassingly low participation. Maybe two people come by in a 4 hour window, sometimes none at all. But these people are DYING for fresh produce. Lol.

Good old food deserts! I remember reading a story out west about whole foods trying to go into an all black area. They were going to have a black owned company build it and they were going to solve the poor areas food desert problem. Yet the locals revolted because property value would go up which mean property taxes would increase. So no Whole Foods was built and the cry of food desert continued..

But of course that isn't the local peoples fault its the corporations for not giving them all raises to afford the rise in property taxes....

Just because Walmart invites the public onto its private property, does not make Walmart a public location in regards to the anti-swearing law you cited.

I cited an example of swearing and how it can get you in trouble with no pretext that it was in a private area. I then even went further and told you how courts view disturbances in private venues. Stop posting post less
