Not sure if that's directed at me?? I wouldn't think so but thought I'd ask.

FWIW my belief is that we should definitely be disappointed if we're not in Atlanta. Lots of things have to go right and sometimes you need some good fortune to make it to the playoffs. Those are two separate things for me. I certainly don't think it's unreasonable to shoot for an NCAA title, just not with the "playoffs or bust crowd". I'm just going to enjoy the ride. Should be an incredibly fun year!

Bama and what looks to be on paper, a not so good FL team coming to K'town.

MO, VT and USC all breaking in new coaches, and are not as talented as UT will be this year.

take away the brand names, and the schedule isn't all that daunting.

on paper the only team that we're probably not better than or equal to, top to bottom is Bama.

we're probably equal to GA, and dare i say better than everyone else.

that's not to say we'll go 11-1. but what disadvantages we might have, will be in most cases, negligible.

there's not a game on the schedule we're not capable of winning. period.

no, it's actually aimed at me. i've been on record, plenty, about how i feel about the FL game being the key to 120, and i'm totally against all pre season hype, and hype in general until we beat FL.

that said, i think we're going to be pretty damn good.

Agreed. It's hard not to get excited. I think it's more about maturity and leadership from upperclassmen this than it is talent. Hopefully we've learned to win those close ones...will probably be the difference in 2016.

The biggest problem I see in our future for going to the national championship is that it likely means we have to beat Bama twice just to get to the national championship playoffs. We likely have to beat them during the regular season and then again during the SEC Championship. That is one h3ll of a gauntlet to have to run just to win the SEC much less run a second gauntlet of the playoffs.

I think we play LSU or Ole Mi$$ (someone besides Bammer) if we beat them next year. I believe that will put them at 2 losses in conference. Don't think that's good enough to get to Atl. They'll lose the head to head tie breaker. Just my thinking.

I agree :thumbsup: and I will also be disappointed if the Vols are not representing the East in Atlanta. I believe THIS is that "NEXT YEAR" we have all been waiting for!

I would LOVE to meet Bama twice , how often do we get the chance to beat them twice in one year? If we are talking about going to the playoffs then let's beat anyone we need to , plus who is the last team to beat Bammer twice in a season? That would be bragging rights right there.
