Jones said he wants McKenzie to play at 315 pounds as a sophomore, and that he believes the son of former Vols star and current Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie can and will meet that goal heading into 2016.

In fact, Jones added, McKenzie is nearly there.

“Kahlil McKenzie has done a great job,” Jones said during the BOC’s annual stop in Chattanooga. “We’ve challenged him to get down to 315 pounds. The last time he was at 315 is when he was 8 years old, so we’re making progress. But he texted me last night that he’s at 323, and we’re excited about that, as well.”

8 years old or 8th grade? There's just a little bit of difference there.

Alright, fellers, I think Butch was just being a little tongue in cheek on the 8 years old comment...:lolabove:

No, he isn't. It is clear Butch is getting a little road weary on the Big Orange Caravan. He has a slip of the tongue, and some A-Hole reporter just writes what he said. Most respectable reporters would have asked for clarification in the interests of accuracy and respect.

This guy should lose his press pass.

Since he didn't mention his mass ill give him a pass. On a more dense planet, an 8 year could weigh up to 1000 lbf.

Complain complain complain. Complain about coach speak, complain when he makes a joke. He should just have a Marshaw Lynch press conference.

Yeah, there's no possible way he weighed 315 as a 3rd grader. Perhaps he meant to say "the last time he was at 315 was in the 8th grade." That would make much more sense IMO.

Or it was an exaggeration...i.e DeBord is 100 years old. :)

Well, we all know that Butch is beyond prone to hyperbole, so you may have just made an outstanding observation there Butchy old boy.

Sidebar....have you noticed that if you hear DeBord on the radio he sounds about 35-36....and then you see him and looks like he's been drawing his pension for about a decade?

Every time I go to the VA, his doppelgänger is waiting at the ophthalmologist clinic. I don't know where our OC stashes his Rascal at Neyland.
