Lady Vols Recruiting Info

Danielle Patterson way up to number 11 so I suspect were really targeting her.

https://www.prospectsnation.com/players/all/2017

Prospects Nation still has KK sixth and Patterson 39. I am beginning to think for the most part these ratings are a bunch of BS.

Blue Star has KK 7th and Patterson 10th. I think we need both.

Blue Star Basketball

Thanks for the links! Very interesting that different services have such wide ranges for certain players. Understandable to have a difference of 5 or 10 rankings spots between polls but 20 or 30 is a little head scratching. Espinoza-Hunter is in the 30 range on two services and the #3 recruit for another, for example. KK is another example, dropping to the 38 in one but in the top 10 for two other services.

I'm optimistic our staff brings in a top 5 class this year.

Patterson really likes Tennessee, and it will likely be between us and ND for her.

Georgia is throwing everything they have at KK and Dodson to keep them in state, and it could work. Likely Tennessee or Georgia for both.

I think Dorie & Hayes ultimately comes here.

We are looking at Westbrook, but getting her off the West Coast will be tough. We are also looking at Eleah Parker, 6'4" Post, from NC and Cooks, 6'4" F from Wisconsin. Also looking at Jade Williams, but she will be hard to pull from Texas.

The net is VERY wide for 2017.

Any chance we get a verbal by the end of the summer? or will most wait until November?

Sydney Cooks moved all the way up to #6 overall and the #2 overall post player in the 2017 class. At 6'4", I hope we can sign her. We need to sign a top 5 class. I wonder if distance is a factor for Cooks and who would be our biggest threat?

Hope Holly is gone that day.

Sandvol ! That`s a start and i`m with you, And not getting one not one recruit in 2016 is as bad as it get. And if we don`t get a verbal from Danielle Patterson or one of the top pg`s in 2017 then this team is cooked.

Wide differences in ratings by Recruiting Services has been the norm not the exception. Some recruiting services discriminate by those who attend their camps while others seem to favor some who give money to attend certain events .....that has been common knowledge for years. The same applies to football recruiting services.

Looking at her tapes, I don't think we will be hurt with her signing with Duke. While she is 6'3-6'4, she is very timid and weak. At least the recruit we got is aggressive on defense and blocks shots. We did not block many shots with our fouling in the last 2-3 years, especially shots taken by the 4 & 5 positions.

The Lady Vols are well-supplied with timid players.

a student-athlete who transfers from one SEC institution to another SEC institution must automatically serve a one-year residence requirement prior to being eligible for competition at the second SEC institution. In addition, the student-athlete will be charged with one year of eligibility in all SEC sports. The SEC institution to which the student-athlete transfers shall not offer, provide or arrange for the student-athlete to receive any athletically-related financial aid during the time the student-athlete is serving the year in residence.

We need another Parker, Holdsclaw and Catchings in the 2017 class.

That would be nice but it's not likely we get a player like those & maybe never again have that chance. I say this just because since Pat left we've made it hard to sign any top players. Cooper last year as the #12 recruit was the highest in a while.

I hope we can get it back that way but I don't know if it will ever be like that again for Lady Vols basketball getting 2-3 of the top recruits from 1 signing class. Maybe it's also a factor in Holly still being coach but I think it's more that Pat is gone.

So ESPN updated some new rankings for the class of '17. KK went from being ranked the 5th overall player down to 38 and I don't even see Dorie Harrison on the list anymore. Anyone know why this might be? Does anyone have links to other recruit ranking services? Thanks!

2017 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings - Super 60 - ESPN

I saw KK and Dodson play on TV and Dodson is the one you want! (Don't care what ratings are):) Anyone who has played BB can watch a game and tell the better athletes! Maya was the one breaking the full court presses and blocking shots and just all around playing a great game!!!!!!
KK is 6'4" and is needed! Hope we get both?

Pattersons tapes also look like she is quite the athlete!!
Wish we could get the Ernie and Bernie show to pay her a visit since they are all from N.Y.

If we can get Hayes? she has a Freshman sister that played in this years state tournament with her( and probably again next year as Senior and Sophomore ) and an 8th grader following both of them!!

Always checking the box scores for Harrison in Nashville and did not see her playing much or scoring???

Rellah Boothe still has us listed with Auburn and Maryland??? 2017 could be really interesting!:eek:hmy:

Why would anyone choose Auburn over us??????

Nared was ranked #5 the year before Cooper. Russell was #1 the year before Nared.

Holly has recruited great despite 2016...that's why It's hard for me to understand the argument of the "HH"s (Holly Haters) that Holly can't recruit. Most of the 2016 top recruits wanted to stay close to home...one factor Holly can't change, location. Dangerfield, Carter, and McCoy were the real heartbreaks for me this recruiting cycle. McCoy especially considering the fact that she really liked Tennessee, but I'm glad Holly chose to remain classy about her recruitment and not offer her sister just to get McCoy.

The signing of Harris and Nunn especially, were crucial for next season. I believe Nunn can give us instant minutes, depending on how she's healed from her injury. If healthy, she can somewhat ease the hole that we face in the post with Graves, Jones, and Moore gone.

With Nunn having one year of play, the 2017 post class will be critical for Holly and I think she knows that. I look for Tennessee to have a top 10...at least..recruiting class in 2017 AND 18. There's lots of playing time there for both guards and post in these next two classes. I feel like the change with Reeves was a sign Holly felt like these next few classes have to be good or she can kiss her job goodbye. With another year, or possibly 2, of DD and Russell, the #1 and #3 recruits in the their respective class, if Tennessee doesn't make the FF it's going to be hard to sell Tennessee as an elite team on the recruiting trail. Everyone in the country knows the talent is there, these next 2 seasons will be interesting....I'm optimistic we're going to be in great shape come next March in both the tournament and the recruiting trail! :)

I'm a participant of that HH group. After reading your post I got excited. I just want the best again for Tennessee. Those long gone days of old when they were feared in winning games just because of the name on their jersey. I want those days back.

So far good things are happening by the hands of Holly. So, I might as well be happy and play along to get along.

Nunn could have returned to her team last year, but would have burned a year of illegibility for a few games. By not using that year and by allowing herself to fully heal, she should be at the top of her game.... This bodes well for the other recruit, Kumera.... Now she can take her freshman year and develop into the kind of player we need her to be, without so much pressure to fill a roll immediately.

Her name is Kamera, not Kumera.
