Clemson and Florida State are defacto SEC teams. What makes the SEC special isn't the conference its the recruiting footprint. Clemson and Florida State both recruit as well as the best SEC schools from the same footprint so their success isn't a surprise. Same can be said the Ohio State eventhough they are not in the south.
However, you can't say that for anyone else in the ACC or the Big 10 (except Michigan is Harbaugh continues the rebuild).
Big 12 and Pac 12 are all around crappy right now. Texas and USC aren't what they used to be. And Oklahoma looks elite only because of the weak competition.
Didn't Oklahoma lay the pipe on Alabama a few years ago? Seems to me they can play with anyone in the country, and have proven it for quite some time. OU just isn't some slouch. Still have to beat the teams on your schedule, regardless.
