SEC Football Preview 2016: Early Conference Lookahead | College Football News

From his article he puts Butch on the "Hot Seat".

Top 5 SEC Coaches on the Hot Seat

Five SEC coaches who’d better win this season. Being on a hot seat doesn’t necessarily mean a coach is about to fired, but the pressure is on to produce up to expectations, and beyond.

1. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M
2. Mark Stoops, Kentucky
3. Gus Malzahn, Auburn
4. Les Miles, LSU
5. Butch Jones, Tennessee

I would put Vandy's coach on there before I would put Butch on there but what do I know?

Seriously. Mason is averaging a 3.5-8.5 season after 2 years. Are their expectations so low that 3.5 wins per season doesn't at least warm up their coach's "seat"?

Also, Miles was damn near fired last year and there's little doubt that plenty of the LSU power brokers still want him gone. He survived last year pretty much because of a popular fan and media uprising. While I certainly agree that Sumlin, Stoops and Malzahn, particularly Malzahn, are in trouble, how is Les not at the top of the list?

Absolutely, the building project is over. Time to produce against our rivals.

I have read his stuff on and off for awhile. Hard to respect him very much.

USCe under Muschamp is going to improve enough to be the "surprise" team?

Still pushing Garrett over Barnett despite Barnett being more productive against quality opponents?

Deserved or not, everyone is. Garrett is higher than him on pretty much every list that I've seen.

I cannot see any viable scenario where Butch would get fired after this season. It would take some scandal out of left field for that to happen.

The writer might want to try again on #5. I think the way Florida finished puts McElweiner on the hot seat ahead of Butch.

What if we go 14-1, winning the national championship... but that one loss was to FL?

Impossible for me to think logically about your question. Too much raw, frustrated, loathing clouding my judgement.

UK is finally getting some experience. Barker is the key first full time starter, but otherwise talent at WR, RB, CB, and even OL is about as good as UK will have for a while. Front seven production will define the season and be the difference between five wins and possibly seven.

Barett. Sallee. Of SDS predicts that candy wins 3 sec games this year including against you guys and goes bowling at 6 and 6. He thinks candy finishes ahead of UK and misery. I hope not. I would rather see you guys beat candy and south Carolina for that matter...and of course fla. Seems like you guys have been close with the gators. For The last few years. Time to beat them.
