I think we have Lawrence rated higher. Premier QB who will light it up for years to come. Lawrence >> Jones

Love to have either, rather have Lawrence. Throws better and just as good on his qb runs. Plus, it would be sad to see a lifelong Vol fan go anywhere but here! Especially since he's best in his class! I'm sure, being a Vol fan, will still factor in his recruitment. You still have to play the game and act like it doesn't though.

UF gave him something to think about...true. He's considering but he's not coming to UF. Remember recruiting rule number 1A "follow the visits". He's not going to any school he's only been to once.

It was his first visit to UF. He's planning a return visit this summer. It all starts with a visit.

Coming to UF or going to UF? Was he banned from the state? Maybe he will return to UF for a visit.

I think we have Jones rated higher so as long as we can land him, I really don't mind where Mr. Lawrence goes.

There are folks in Johnson City who have still never recovered from SOS being a Gator. Even though TL goes to HS in Georgia it would get brought up every time we played the Gstors or Dawgs, Best case scenario would be for Lawrence to pick us and Jones to go to Colombus.

I agree that's our best case, but as long as we get one of the two I won't complain.

He never played at any level in TN. He was born there and moved to GA from VA before starting school. Entire youth and HS career played in GA. Be thankful that he played in GA if he commits to the Vols because TN high school football isn't on the same planet.

Very gifted academically. As many have said already, he will not be a kid holding a clipboard waiting to play.

Interested to see what he decides.

Tough read. He admits he grew up a UT fan but says it won't impact his decision and downplayed his and his family's UT fanship in general. He didn't really talk up any school. Stated that he's not afraid to compete when asked about Emory Jones. Mentioned he is friends with Chase Brice and keeps up with the 2017 QBs, but reiterated that he wasn't afraid to compete. Says now may not be ready to commit before his season starts. Said specifically that he "liked Florida a lot". Also, mentioned visiting Oklahoma. Appears to be a UT, UGA, UF, Clemson, Oklahoma contest right now. My guess is that it is still mainly UT and UGA with UF starting to look like a real contender, maybe even moving from darkhorse to front runner. Bama or UF are the only two schools that it would be painful for me to see a East TN-born elite player choose over UT. UGA would disappoint, but not hurt (plus, he's lived in GA for awhile, so it'd be more understandable). UF has yet to have a successful QB alum in the NFL. TL would very likely change that, which would only further help the school recruit in the future (the last thing we need).

There is no way in my mind any school should or would take another QB in 2018 over this guy (including E. Jones, who appears to be elite also). I just think TL is on another level of elite and has the potential to be one of the best QB of his generation.

Geez Louise. You strap 5 stars next to a kid and have him say he likes the Vols and all of a sudden he's one of the best of this generation. Come on now

TL is an elite prospect, no question. Do some research on him and see if it takes 5 stars to tell you he's on another level.

I hate it when people use crazy hyperbole about HS kids, but the proof is in the results. Buford gets beaten so rarely, and to have done it on that stage is just insane.

That may or may not be true. He hasnt played any college football yet. But if he doesnt pick UT, then most on here will say he isnt that special. VN is a fickle place.

"I would be amazed if TL became a Dawg. He's a Vol for life."

An interesting quote from a Georgia fan on their rivals board. They all seem to think he's going to Tennessee.
