2016 Election Thread Part Deux

This is essentially what's going to happen.

Nope, I still think Rubio might pledge his delegates to Trump in exchange for a Cabinet position or the VP position.

He's been suspiciously quiet as of late. And Trump continues to say nice things about him.

I admit that we're just one major terrorist attack and a Trump nuke threat in response from a Trump presidency, because, in a climate of fear candidates, he is the king of the fear candidates.

However, if there's one thing that this two-year long national embarrassment that we call the "American presidential election cycle" has taught me, it's this: trust the polls. And what did the polls say? That Trump was going to be the top Republican candidate. And he has been. And what else do the polls say? That he and Cruz will get absolutely annihilated by Clinton.

Guess who doesn't get annihilated by Clinton, according to the polls?

Trust the polls, not your heart.

....and if you had trusted the polls this far in advance of the 1988 election, Kitty Dukakis would have been your First Lady.

I think his ego is planning on him making that second or third round of balloting his chance. He's anything but establishment and is an outsider himself.

At this point, especially after NY, he should have hung up his spurs. Especially with polling data coming out of the remaining States for the primaries. He's doing nothing more than "if I can't have it, neither can he" at this point and wasting a lot of money.

I'm glad he's hanging in there, just like Kasich. It will hopefully help avoid a Trump annihilation by Clinton in the general by getting the Republicans an actually viable candidate at a brokered convention.

Not this time around. Trump is too hated to win, other than a major terrorist attack weaseling him into the White House.

This is a guy who has hired Yanukovich's former aide to be "more presidential" and has said he wouldn't rule out nuking Europe to combat ISIS.

You just don't come back from that. That kind of crazy doesn't win general elections, especially not with the polls so against him.

You're a fool if you don't think Trump can't marginalize crooked Hiliary with the time remaining and her under an active FBI investigation..

Yeah, because it's worked so well before.

I'd love to know who, if anyone, is whispering in Cruz's ear that he has a snowball's chance in hell of the nomination at the convention. Because he's just as despised as Trump.

My guess is he actually thinks he's God's chosen to be President. He certainly isn't getting the vibe from anyone else that they want him.

What about the history of the Clintons and scandals makes you think she is going to face an indictment, prison time, or any other penalties related to her handling of State Dept. secrets on her private email account?

Heck, even if she does, Bernie beats the absolute bejesus out of the guy who thinks we can potentially nuke our way out of our problems in nearly every major poll:

You should be thanking Kasich, instead of scoffing at him. As it turns out, he may just save you, the Republican Party, and Republican primary voters from yourselves and ensure that your archenemy, "Cankles," I believe you call her, will not beat you senseless in the general.

Ehh, might be a good thing in the long run to have the Republican party implode. Out of the ashes we might just get something good.

Come on my friend, saying he's going to nuke Europe is a stretch of what he said.

You know I'm not a Trump supporter at all, but we're talking MSNBC and Mother Jones stretching the hell out of him talking out his rear end.

That's why I said "potentially," which does not misrepresent his comments.

And even so, who in the heck says something like that? That's the kind of stuff the mentally unbalanced homeless guy says to you when he sees you standing outside the grocery store and decides to strike up a conversation with you.

This is true. I've often maintained, even when I was a self-described "liberal," that one of the healthiest things for the nation would be for a revitalized, strong Republican Party that once again knew what it stood for and presented a solid alternative to the Democrats, rather than the loose, incoherent, motley coalition of neocons, libertarians, anarchists, racists, and other bizarre fellow travelers that it currently is.

Are these polls part of the global conspiracy against Trump and true conservatism, or something?

And I knew a hound dog named "Cleetus" once. Fastest dog I've ever seen. Would run across the yard like a dart.

There isn't a hairs difference between the Republican party establishment and the Democrats. Neither have demonstrated an ounce of fiscal discipline over the last 20 or so years. The Dems have gone so far left (fiscally) that they are off the reservation and the mainstream Republicans are not too far behind.

Both parties need to can the social bull**** or at least put a $ figure next to any initiatives so we will know how much someones pet social issue actually costs.

Clinton will wreck Trump. I'm not really sure he wants to beat her, given how much money he's donated to the Clintons over the years.
