The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

The only thing that matters is the racing. It's in the name. It's not called NASCARAOST.

Thousands of empty seats say otherwise.

And right now I really don't care who wins anymore, none of the current crop of drivers really interest me. No more good 'ol boys.

...anyone want to explain what the point is in fining Tony Stewart 35k??

He questioned the idea that a car didn't need 5 lug nuts in the face of all the safety efforts NASCAR have put in place.

If I'm missing something, help me out here.

You don't question or criticize the all mighty NASCAR.

Driver council agreed with him and they're gonna pay the fine if I understood right. But good grief, that basically boiled down to he spoke out against them and they didn't like it and fined him.

Lol Carl was supposed to be happy to finish 2nd because Kyle was a teammate? I wouldn't call that dirty. I wouldn't have called it dirty had it been the other way around.

I just can't stand him. Never have. Never will.

That's how I feel too. It was a great finish though. There's only one or two other teammates I think in the garage that would do that and I think it's Johnson and Harvick. I wouldn't call it dirty and I be pissed too if that happened to my driver. Nobody likes to run second though. I honestly thought Carl wasn't gonna be able to get to him.

I think he would've kept going through the mid 00s, and maybe raced a few races here and there like Talladega and Daytona.

I commemorate Schrader for keeping his composure in the post race interview. He already knew, but had to hold it in.

I was 10-11 when it happened and I remember watching it with Dad. Neither of us were fans of his but it was our Sunday thing to sit and watch the races for long as I could remember. When it happened I thought to myself I've seen him do worse, he'll get out. When they wouldn't hardly show the replay and I seen Schrader look in the car and call for the ambulance I knew something was not right.

I don't feel like he was at a rapid decline though, didn't he finish 2nd in the points the season before?

I don't know about everyone else, but the restrictor plate tracks are my favorite to pick for the pickem contest.
