'17 VA DT/ATH Eric Crosby (UT signee)

First BOOOM!!

secondly lol at "eh, Tennessee has had some rough records the last couple seasons". not like VT has been outstanding

8-5, 7-6, 7-6.

5-7, 7-6, 9-4

There is some trending going on here. I think Hubbs would say that we are trending upward and VT, well, erm, not so upward.

Just like the LSU DB. Both players will try to be persuaded to play for their home team. Both will be extremely hard to hold on to.

I would say it will be easier to hold on with a VA native against VT than a Louisiana native with LSU. But, that's just me.

Nah. Just spittin facts bruh

If we win, they won't be hard to hold onto. But, they better do what they are suppose to do or we could go in another direction. Smart for both to keep fall back options available. It is just what recruiting is now days.

They will win 10 games this year.

They still have Bud Foster and Fuenta is a great offensive mind.

We still beat them by 40 I think

They don't have Paxton Lynch and they are installing a completely new offensive system. I am not saying that they won't win 10 because I have not seen their schedule. I do agree with the second part of your prediction.

In 247 article up this AM about Charlotte Opening Crosby says he is recruiting Taj Capehart and Jordan Williams to TN.

Taj Capehart? Is there a thread? Don't know how to search on mobile..

Durrrr... Just saw the search function at the bottom...

Yeah, agree. We need to get to ATL. If we do that we are going to be set in recruiting

At least 3 teams will beat them next year. UT, UNC and Notre Dame. I expect Miami to be better this year too. I don't see them winning 10 games. They got Duke as well. They're lucky that they don't play Clemson or FSU though.

Cliff notes: I am going to make Vol Nation sweat bullets until NSD.

With how Butch and Co. recruit, there will be no sweating. It is part of the perks of having existing talent on our roster. It is nice I must say. The Dooley years are long gone.

Today's camp just finished up. Five-star wide receiver Tee Higgins got an invitation to The Opening Finals out in Oregon in July, as did running back Khalan Laborn of Virginia. Higgins definitely had a good day.

I thought Tennessee DT commitment Eric Crosby had a good day overall. He didn't win all of his one-on-one matchups, but he was consistently one of the better defensive tackles out there. He's known for his athleticism, and he definitely showed good quickness for a guy his size, although he's not the tallest or longest defensive tackle.

I think 7-8 wins looks about right for them, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them get to 9. Foster's great on defense and Fuente usually scrapes together a good offense. They're not exactly returning world beaters for Fuente to work with and they'll be running a new scheme, but like you said their schedule is pretty fortunate for them.

Don't sleep on Fuente. He can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. He's already proven that. As you said, Bud Foster is a miracle worker with mediocre guys. We are going to scrape by in this game. I believe that VT is a bigger threat than FL just because of the unfamiliarity and the venue.

I'm not sleeping on Fuente at all. I think he's a great coach and could really shake things up in the ACC once he has some more of his own guys and his system in place. I just think it will probably be a season or two before he's able to put it all together. It took him two years of dwelling in the basement at Memphis before they took a big step forward for him.

VT a bigger threat than UF?.....My lord. We will beat VT by about 21. Bristol motor Speedway will be about 80% vol fans. Don't give me that venue crap. Also...unfamiliarity? Butch has the whole offseason to watch tape of Fuentes teams and such...he is gonna be prepared. Remember what we did to NW and Iowa....yup...bloodbaths.

I really only see 4 or 5 surefire wins on their schedule. Liberty, BC, ECU, and Syracuse. Depending on how quick Fuente's offense takes shape, they could maybe beat Duke, Miami, UVA, GT, and Pitt too. Honestly, they could be anywhere from a 4 to 9 win team.

Yep. The Battle at Bristol will not be much of a battle at all. Vols biiiiig

This. Tennessee has too much speed and talent for VT to handle.

Best in the business in Virginia. He's the ONLY ONE who all along said Darrell Taylor was headed to Tennessee. ALL of the 247 guys said he was a VT lock.

As I was saying.... Same old from 247. Zero respect for Tennessee's staff when it comes to recruiting...

Clark once again nails it on a VA prospect and 247 misses again...
