Hubbs just said his gut feeling is that Johnson is reinstated before the summer, but the lawsuit could make UT hesitant to do it.

Do we really want a guy on the team that has a domestic assault on his record? Even if it's dismissed in 6 months?

Sounds like something went down.

It won't be on his record of it's dismissed. Sometimes, defendants are allowed to complete some programs for a dismissal. Don't know in this case. But your point is still valid, considering what happened with Paulk.

i personally feel with our running game we should've attacked with play action a lot more on first down. And wolf should've been the primary receiver on those plays.

Now this spread look of motioning the te forces defenses to attack downhill immediately or get punched in the mouth by hurd. Key is dobbs can pull the ball at anytime and gash your defense. You also have the pa passing game which is what set hurd up later in the game.

I think hurd could go for more yards easily if we attack vertical with success more. Safeties and lbs won't be so fast to react to the running game. And against a team like oklahoma, hurd should've gotten 200 easily.
Yes!

Just playing devils advocate because I have really no idea what happened but what if he and girlfriend are playing around and he grabs her too forcefully and she gets upset. He steps in front of her to prevent her from leaving in an attempt to rectify the situation. Girlfriend remains mad and just wants to leave. After a couple of minutes he allows her to leave realizing she needs to cool off. Now all of a sudden there is a false imprisonment and assault charge from not letting her leave and grabbing her arm to forcefully while play fighting.

Not saying it went down that way but the way things get blown out of proportion a lot of times it would stink for that to cost the young man an opportunity to play football

I'm good friends with a girl that knew a former fling of his and she said that he was described as being quite physical/ a bit controlling. The fling didn't have anything she would complain about legally, but she said she wasn't exactly surprised when the suit came up.

Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding though.

Flinging girls will get you arrested for sure.

Domestic assault cases are tricky because sometimes they don't get prosecuted because the victim realizes that it was blown out of proportion, sometimes the victim is scared, sometimes the parties reconcile.

Not sure what happened here but once Jane Doe was added to the lawsuit I'd be really surprised if she didn't prosecute.

Which makes you wonder why it got passed to be dismissed without terms. I doubt the Knoxville DA is just going around dismissing cases for players who have pending charges for DUI etc.

Yes. Especially since charges were either dropped or reduced significantly. May not be, but it sure has the appearance.

Almost immediately after this story broke, the plaintiff was added to the Title IX suit and the wheels were in motion to drop the charges.

Reeks of someone seizing an opportunity to get in on this payday at the University's expense.
