Haven't watched it since. Don't think I will.

All I know is that if we finally take down the Gators this year, I will rewatch the game in its entirety at least 20 times before we play them again in 2017.

I have worn out the 2015 UGA game, and did the same with the 2013 and 2014 USC games.

My response to that guy who said that was I thought Kelly could have similar production because the OL should be way better. Hurd is definitely the better back. At least it looks that way.

Who knows though, you know? Maybe Kelly whips out a nick Chubb style year. We don't know until we see him as the featured back.

It was not wise.

I made that mistake a few weeks ago. Pulled up the game and really enjoyed it up until the final 8 or so minutes. It was even more baffling that we lost that game the second time I watched it. We were clearly the better team and played a better game overall.

I just watched the end of the UF game.

Man that was painful.

We had about 3 ways to ice that game both on offense and defense.

And that second kick was a foot from being good.

Why man!!? Why would you put yourself through that torment? I will never watch that game again or the UF game from 14 for that matter.

Odds are Kelly will never be the "featured back" at UT.

CBJ has proven to be a pretty good recruiter to date. If UT has a 2016 any where close to what's being predicted then chances are Hurd and Kamara leave. Again chances are UT signs an elite RB due to the opportunity for immediate PT and he will vault to the top of the depth chart.

Not saying "book it" or any other ridicules D4H type guarantee, but it's a very reasonabl possibility IMO.

Yes. You could be right. I think after this year he will be one of two backs getting the majority of carries. But I would gladly accept a top RB (fournette, Hurd type) to come in and be the boss man.

I think we're in on some good backs right now, but I'm not sure we're in on any good enough to overcome Kelly by 2017. Especially with the way Butch has shown deference to older, more experienced players. Personally, I don't see any Nick Chubbs, Jalen Hurds, or Leonard Fournettes in the 2017 recruiting class.

If we land Akers and Chandler, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly end up with a more equitable share of the carries with one of those guys or CFA than we've seen over the past few years. But if he's healthy that spot is his to lose.

Next year, as a junior, Kelly will be the #1 back, no question, barring injury. Spring reports were great, and Gillespie allegedly said he is a future pro.

Agree. If he is splitting time it's a good thing because that means we got a stud. I am not disappointed at all with the prospect of Kelly being our RB1.

I seriously wasn't expecting Kelly to be this good as an underclassman third stringer. Talk about your diamond in the rough.

He doesn't have the star power just yet, which will definitely help RB recruiting over the next year or so.

We talk about Butch's recruiting strengths and gameday weaknesses, but something that's being completely ignored in that argument is player development. For every 5* showing out, we've got another 3* that's playing like a 5*. That demands credit.

Great point

After catching up through the threads of the past day or so, been a whole lot of this going on...

Kelly reminds me of a bigger, more athletic version of Travis Stephens. Great burst through the LOS, shifty, and reads gaps well.

Behind a solid Oline in 2017, I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelly have the type of season TS had in 2001.

Not allegedly. He's said or alluded to it several times. He's also not the only coach I've heard say something like that about Kelly.

We essentially traded a 4 star in Kendall Bussey for 3 star Kelly. Harbaugh did everything short of a personal satellite camp to flip him. There's something there. :matrix:

Fair enough. If he's not top 5 will you concede top 10?

As for Kelly, is it fair to say "he has the chance to be" a really good back as he's not taken any meaningful snaps yet at UT?

I like Kelly and hope he continues to develop, but IMO, JMO, TIFWIW, saying he is of comparable talent to Hurd is premature.

I agree with all of this. I think Kelly is going to be a good back and potentially do very good things here, but he's not comparable to a 6'4 240 lb back who can run like a horse.
