Pay up? I've paid my loans back, so it ain't about me. It's about the next generation(s) behind me.

you have problems with corporations running up debt and getting bailouts, but not people?

as "the next generation" this is full of crap. it punishes those of us who did it the right way, by not giving us the same handout.

It only punishes you if you worry about other people's finances.

Ok if you say so...then those SSDI recipients who had their SSA health records released to the Dept of Education can sue the federal government for using the health info to forgive their loans lol :eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Your claim that there is no HIPPA issue because information is just being transferred around inside the Federal government is simply wrong.

I don't know that this particular case involves a violation but the blanket statement you made is absolutely wrong.

Your premise assumes that those SSDI recipients instructed the SSA to never release health info to other branches of the fed government. It's entirely possible hat they waived their HIPPA rights when they voluntarily attempted to prove their disability tot he Federal government.

I did not take out loans. I now pay taxes. Taxes Obama is taking money and giving to those who did take out loans. I am being punished (putting in, while getting nothing back) while those who are getting are best matching my contribution and at worst not putting anything in.

It's a drop in the defecit budget we don't need to make. And it's another case of rewarding those who did something wrong. And if you continue to reward wrong behaviour you are encouraging it.

This should come as a shock to no one. There should be no outrage or confusion. We have inept twits running this country. Always have and likely always will.

it's not punishing you because you would still be paying the same amount of taxes regardless of this loan forgiveness program. The tax rates have not increased.

This is why I lose it sometimes with alcoholic aid.

The worst part is he actually seems to actually think this stuff for real.

How is it false that this loan forgiveness program did not increase his tax rate, thereby he was not punished?

Not my point, or his, and you know it. I am not going to answer the rest of your question. I will let my 7 year old niece explain it to you. She is in bed right now.

Now you're backtracking, because the loan forgiveness program is clearly what he is referencing as the "same handout".

So how is "it" punishing anyone if "it" hasn't raised the tax rate on anyone?

More national debt. Enough for it to be a punishment there.
And adding to that, taxes always go up to include more and more crap, this is more of that crap. So there may not be a "loan forgiveness tax" but I chalk this up to more welfare covered by more taxes.
Again this is fostering a system of ever increasing government safety nets, which is yes more taxes. We have to stop saying yes, I don't care how small it is. Say no and put the money somewhere it should go. Or maybe pay off the fricking debt. Not much hope of that.
Even if by some miracle the tax rate doesn't go up I will be making more money than I am now so I will paying in more $$$ than I am now, also "hopefully" at higher rate, so yes my taxes will go up and it will go towards this crap.

And beyond the tax thing, way more punishment out there than taxes. The direction this nation takes directly influences my life, life style and standard of living. Seeing as how I believe this will negatively effect those things in the long haul it sure feels like punishment for doing the "right" thing.

If his tax rate did not increase, then it's more welfare covered by the same taxes...not more taxes. Thus, King Obama's loan forgiveness program did not punish him.

Your tax situation nothing to do with King Obama's loan forgiveness program. Because if you make more, then you would pay more taxes...REGARDLESS of whether King Obama implemented his loan forgiveness program. Thus, "IT" hasn't punished anyone.

Yea like I said, it is punishment if you concern yourself with other people's finances...or if you're jealous they got their loans forgiven and you did not.

So after all the bro-club cheerleaders hurled their usual insults, no can articulate how it's false that this loan forgiveness program did not increase his tax rate, thereby not punishing him?

it doesn't work that way and besides that's not what you posted. You implied it's okay to pass along people's information throughout all parts of the government since they were all part of the government.

you haven't a clue yet you keep posting.

most people would admit they were wrong and move on.

Your same logic applies to any government subsidy - so if you are fine with forgiving student loans you should be fine with tax breaks for Big Oil.

Doesn't cost you a thing amirite?

No it doesn't necessarily mean i am fine with every single tax break of benefit. Because I am not the one who said loan forgiveness, or any government expenditure/benefit be it big oil tax breaks or whatever, punishes me.
