Friday Top 10: An Early Look at 2017 Pro Prospects | Rocky Top Insider

10. OL Dylan Wiesman
9. OL Coleman Thomas
8. DE Corey Vereen
7. QB Joshua Dobbs
6. RB Alvin Kamara
5. WR Josh Malone
4. LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin
3. RB Jalen Hurd
2. CB Cam Sutton
1. DE Derek Barnett

It is a great group of players for sure, but we were replacing these types of players in 90's too.

Wiseman, Thomas, & Vereen are solid but are your average player at a good UT.

We have recruited well enough at the QB & DB spots to handle these losses. Only losing one WR or LB is not a serious issue.

The RB spot is where we must get two of the stud RB recruits we are in on.

Barnett is a freak and we may not find one guy to replace him. Hopefully our depth at the DE spot will soften the blow.

Coleman and perhaps Malone (unless he has a breakout year) are the only two on that list that I see coming back...5 are SRs.

Coleman Thomas will almost definitely be drafted. He's an ultra athletic center...but it's not going to be after this season.

NFL teams are not taking as many running backs in the first round as they used to.

They took 2 last year (Gurley and Gordon). Will take at least one this year (Elliot) and possibly 2 (Henry).

And 2017 is supposed to be the best RB class in a generation with the likes of Fournette, Cook, Chubb, Hurd, Freeman, McCaffrey, and Perine potentially coming out.

I think you get at least 4 1st round RBs in 2017. Possibly as many as 5.

I don't believe Malone will be going anywhere next year.

He's taller than North and faster. He's proven to be more durable (although thats not saying alot).

A decent year from him next year (40 catches, 650 yards, 6 TDs) and I could see him going. Add a low 4.4 40 at the combine to that resume and he can go 2nd round in what will be a weak WR draft (again) in the 2017 draft.

lol, so much lulz (Dobbs 1st)

Carson Wentz and Paxton Lynch are about to go 1st round this year. I'm guessing you woulda lulz if I said that last year.

In 2012, RG3 and Ryan Tannehill came outta nowhere to be 1st round picks. In spring 2011 if I said that you woulda lulz. I compare Josh to both of them in terms of style and potential.

Every year a QB emerges out of nowhere into a 1st round pick. If 2016, that'll be Dobbs. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Is it remotely possible? Yes, but Your guarantees are the funny part and not a single person other than yourself has him anywhere ahead of a third round pick. If he happens to be able to consistently hit the broadside of a barn this year and puts up great numbers, he has a chance to creep into the second, but your constant babble and guarantees that he's going to win the Heisman and be a first rounder is just that, babble.

Nothing could be more accurate "Just sit back and enjoy the show". It will be nice for Dobbs to gain accuracy and make this a special year.

Jump higher Vols.

No one knew Paxton Lynch before the 2015 season. And I tracked mock drafts all last off-season bad never see Carson Wentz in any of them.

Stop making up stuff.

No spit. This is me projecting. When I make posts, I post MY OPINION. I'm not saying this is the consensus.

I'm telling you I BELIEVE Josh will be a first rounder next year. He's got the size, he's got the athleticism, he's got the intelligence, and he has the arm talent.

Its all about putting it together. I think he does it next year. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. But I ain't afraid to be bold. The kid has the talent.

He's had accuracy. Its about consistency for him. And getting some receivers that can get separation and an o-line that can pass protect.

All 3 happen in 2016 and we go 15-0.
