'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

Malones problem is mental. He has all the ability in the world to be elite but his mentality holds him back. He wants the ball to come to him perfect instead of going for the ball. If only he could pick up that Jennings competitive drive. That drive is what will end up pushing Preston and Jennings ahead of Malone

I agree with all of this.

Former Carolina WR Steve Smith needs to have a talk with Malone.

It's that desire and intensity that makes the difference when the talent gap is close. That is the part I doubt he will pick up, but if he does... game on.

If he picked up that kind of desire, he would be a monster.

He is a pretty strong runner and I believe would run a low 4.4 high 4.3 at the combine. Extremely talented player

despite his decommitment from tennessee on feb. 4, he said the vols still are one of the teams he’s strongly considering, and he expects them to remain high on his list.

“i haven’t taken them out of the equation. They’re easy top-five — always will be,” higgins said. “i mean, (being) the local team has quite a bit to do with it, and it’s easy for my family to come watch me play. But the coaches, they’re so tight with the players. I like that type of bond.”

he said the message he has received from tennessee coach butch jones’ staff hasn’t changed since he reopened his recruitment, although the vols have made it clear they’re open to the idea of higgins playing both football and basketball.

“they told me they’re recruiting me the same,” he said. “it never changed, and that’s what i like about them. I’ve been talking to the basketball team a lot lately, and it’s just been cool to hang around with some of the basketball players and stuff. They want me to play both (sports). If i don’t want to, that’s ok with them. It doesn’t matter to them.”

tennessee wide receivers coach zach azzanni still has a strong relationship with higgins.

“we’re close. We’re really close,” higgins said of azzanni. “he’s a great guy, great coach and just always a guy i like.”

while higgins said he doesn’t “know when” he might be ready to announce his final decision, he added that he’s planning to enroll in summer school in hopes of getting “on track” to graduate in december.

“i’m planning on enrolling early at whatever college i go to,” he said, “but i don’t know when i’ll (decide).”

P Dub and JaJuan Jennings will be juniors by the time he steps on campus. We need a WR like this guy.

Come on, Tee! Make Tennessee known for being stingy about home breed players leaving the state like LSU!

WRs as a group have to get hungry. Whenever they go up with a DB for a ball, its incomplete. They gotta win some of those, the majority of those.

the play of the year last season for me was Shepard's catch in the 4th qtr to tie the OU game. SOB made an outstanding catch with Mosley all over him and got a foot down. I doubt any Tennessee WRs would have made that catch.

I've said it before, but Malone isn't as talented as people here like to think. He's an average SEC WR talent wise. Not that big/physical, not particularly quick or dangerous with the ball in his hands, and not a threat to go up and get the ball or run past defenders. He's just decent. He can be a decent possession receiver, but he's not as talented of an athlete as Jennings or Williams, which is why those guys will see the ball more than him this year if they are healthy.

Shoop being here could end up impacting WR play. Shoop will have our DBs aggressive and challenging every route which should have our wrs used to that physical style come game time

Malone is not a natural reciever. He's learning. I think Azzani is doing well with him, but the kid has a very average feel for the ball. Ive never once seen him snag the ball away from his body.

He's a body catcher, which is why he has so many drops.

And he NEVER dives for the ball.

Preston Williams, Josh Smith, and Latrell Williams will improve our throw game this year. Jennings will as well. Those 4 will be the guys who give some spark to our offense. And thats plenty..

Malone has a few Corner routes where he plucked very well. Georgia game he caught the ball exceptionally well and looked like a 5 star. Alabama game as well.

Malone isn't as aggressive. His speed is better than both if he stops thinking and just plays.

North could make that catch with ease. And Bama WRs made tougher catches on the drive to win for them in the fourth.

If Sutton was on him he would've stopped that period. But Jancek elected to leave Moseley on him like a clown.

Another in the long list of bone headed defensive calls which ended up sealing his fate.

I honestly think Moseley and Foreman will play much better next year. We often forget how young these guys are, and both were projects coming in at best.

I doubt #12 plays a lot. Martin, Abernathy, Gaulden, Berry will all play somewhere and are all playmakers. Martin is basically taking the No.2 CB spot and running with it this Spring. Secondary is loaded and will be even more loaded when the freshmen get in.

Foreman finished the year off very strong, and I agree he should have a better year next year, but I'm not sure I see Moseley playing a whole lot with all the new talent coming in along with Martin stepping up. I'd expect to see more Osborne and Byrd than Moseley by seasons end if things go according to plan.

IYO, any chance that Osborne sees the field this year on defense?

If everyone stays healthy, it's looking like Moseley's next chance to ear a whole lot of playing time will be 2017 if Martin jumps to the draft early.

Thanks, but do you think that he (Osborne) is as good as advertised? It is nice to know that we won't have to rely on freshmen play.

Probably is but he's not better as a freshman than second year Abernathy or Martin. Or seniors Sutton and Foreman, plus the juco CB will probably play first. He's a very good athlete. I'm glad to not roll freshmen out anymore.

Your opinion but under the pressure situation (3rd and 14 I believe) inside a minute, that was a hell of a play.

I agree that the bama catches were great plays but bama probably would have got the ball back even if the Vols had stopped them on that drive (bama had 2 TOS and would have punted the Vols deep). The Shepard catch was practically the ball game as they'd had only one more play for the entire distance.

You cant make the catch if you aint playing. North caught 6 balls all yr. give me a freakin break
