HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Does 'Game of Thrones' trailer show Jon Snow alive? - Tech Insider

For those that want to see the supposed picture still of Jon Snow and make a judgment for themselves...

Ahh...that's a completely different scene from what all the stupid youtube comments I saw were talking about. they were referring to the glimpse of the guy on horseback in the woods attack someone with a torch thing (lol)

i definitely see it in that picture.

kind of stupid imo. with how much these things are analyzed, I don't see why D&D would show any scene in the trailers remotely showing Jon Snow alive, regardless if it barely or obscurely shows him at all. i get everyone pretty much knows he is gonna come back, but why spoil it completely in the trailer?

I've been listening to the audio book of "A Song of Fire and Ice" while I work and I'm loving it so far. Tyrion is even more badass in the book. Him smacking Joffrey is the best part. So far I think the show has followed the book pretty well. The thing I like about the book is that it goes really in depth with the characters. I'm about 3 hours in and they are still on what was on the pilot of the show.

maybe i just dont get it. i gave the show 3 seasons. found it to be slow moving, with too many plot twists that seemed overly complicated and took away from the plot. seemed like it tried too hard to keep us guessing, generically so. Great character development only to kill off its best characters. I wanted so badly to have a great fantasy series with HBO behind it. Sometimes ideas are better left on paper i guess.

You're sore over the Red Wedding aren't you?

Give it time, you'll heal.

you're part of an incredibly small minority, but at least you gave it a shot

What other shows do you like?

I watched the first 2 episodes about 3 years ago and at first I had pretty much the same reaction as you. I didn't see what the big deal was and moved on. I started again this past December and I think it's probably the best show on TV right now.

I love NF stuff. I struggled with Daredevile but its grown to be my favorite. I enjoy Walt Longmire Mysteries (Longmire) as was always a fan of Hillerman Navajo mysteries. Although fictional, Longmire takes us back to Central Wyoming, a place ive visited several times. I worked in YNP in '03, at which time was able to read Hobbit-LOTR. Became a huge fan of the books and movies. Although the fantasy stuff isnt my cup of tea. My fav books growing up were english translation of Le Morte Artur...i dunno guess there was a logical connection to Sword in the Stone. As an adolescent i enjoyed Twain and Hemingway fiction.

Always been more of a Sci-Fi fan. Admittedly. Star Wars, Star Trek Next Gen, Tron, Bladerunner, Space Odyssey. Thanks for not thrashing my opinion. Ill give GOT another go in a while

Its great becuase they kill those great characters. There's hardly any plot armor. It goes how it would really go. Great writing imo. Plus there's so much heartbreak and terrible moments in this world, that even the smallest happy moment makes you feel great. But hey there's never going to be a show that everyone likes.

im all about a great tragedy, loved the Epic Poetry of The Odyssey and Iliad, but GOT is not that. So ill agree to disagree. To me i think i can see where its all headed in the end. why waste all that time on crappy plots and twists?? we will see.

Explain where you think it's heading in the end, because I'm willing to put down a large sum of money that says you're wrong.

Try Banshee. It's like if Justified and Breaking Bad had a child that was an R rated tv show with some of the best fight scenes you'll see. It makes you root for a bad guy because he's got an even badder guy after him.

Gonna binge watch that mama bear when one of the streaming services offer it. Never had Cinemax.

I don't know how he sees where it's going in the end. I have no idea what's going to happen. It is far from a predictable show.
