I picked Cal to go fairly far because Cuonzo having success in the tourney is a very Vols thing to happen. I guess he can't even take advantage of the fact that the sports gods hate us.

He made the play in game here with 2 nba players, 3 w Richardson not developed yet. Also got lucky and played mercer instead of duke 2nd round.

So I named a lot of "garbage players"...lol. Boy, you're one helluva fan....kids who have give their commitment and heart to rep the orange and white and you call em "garbage". Not surprised.

1. Kerbyson was absolutely our best OL last year, along with Wiesman. I'll give you Coleman as he really improved and flourished after moving back to his natural position. Jashon was injured the entire season and was pretty much average all year long. Hall stepped in and played very well as freshman.....AFTER 3rd year player/RSSoph Kendrick started the first 5 games and couldn't play due to injury.

2. You made the absurd statement that our best players were freshmen and sophomores.....Pearson was neither, he was a senior. And Josh Smith was a 3rd year RSSoph. No freshman WR did much of anything last year and the only sophomore to produce anything was Malone. Try to stay focused here.

3. Barnett got off to a very slow start (2.5 TFLs, 1 sack after 5 gms), so he was not our only constant on defense. JUNIOR JRM was outstanding all year long, recording more tackles and more TFLs than Barnett....and he was light years better than freshman DKJr or any other LB on the roster. JUNIOR Vereen was very much a constant last year at DE opposite Barnett...39 tackles, 3rd on the team in TFLs behind JRM and DB, 3.5 sacks....perhaps you can recall his play vs Alabama...he was our best DL that day with 5 tackles, 2.5 TFLs and 2 sacks.

4. I agree that sophomore Justin Martin was our second best CB (behind JUNIOR Cam Sutton) when he finally cracked the starting lineup halfway through the season. And again, by the latter part of the season, JUNIOR Malik Foreman was playing as well as either of them.

And how the hell do you justify saying that TKJr was our best safety, when he couldn't beat out either RSSr Randolph or SENIOR LaDarrel McNeil to be a starter? It's just not true. Feel free to take it up with Jones, Jancek and Martinez since they started Randolph in all 13 games and McNeil in the 10 of 11 games he was cleared to play? .....they might even watch as much film as you do.

And only you would declare Tuttle our best DT last year. Lol. He didn't start any of the 6 games he played in, averaged 1.6 tackles per game, and had no TFLs or sacks. Same goes for freshman KMac who had 1 sack & 1 TFL. Meanwhile, Senior Owen Williams was very good all season long with 35 tackles and 6.5 TFLs and a sack.

5. Finally, try to stay focused my little narcissistic and racist buddy.....no one was making any comparison whatsoever between our DLs and Florida's....you said OUR best players last year were all sophomores and freshmen. I only focused on that statement and just proved that ridiculous, uninformed opinion to be wrong. If anybody need his little heart blessing it's you.

Our classes in 2011, 2012, and 2013 don't compare to Florida. Florida's classes in 2011, 2012, and 2013 were better than ours. Thus their upperclassmen are better than ours.

Other than Dobbs, Sutton, and JRM, all our best players came from the 2014 and 2015 class.

You can slurp dudes like Kerbyson, McNeil, and Randolph all you want. I thought they were BELOW AVERAGE sec players. Florida's upperclassmen were guys like Jonathan Bullard, Antonio Morrison, and Keanu Neal. Studs who were invited to the combine.

Nobody wants dudes like Kerbyson, McNeil, and Randolph.

They beat 4-seed FSU in 1989 and 6-seed UK in 1982.

They can beat Syracuse. Sweet 16 for Middle will make it difficult to live with these fans around here.

I get it. They should be proud, but I will hear how they should be in the SEC more. Delusional

They have been playing pretty solid basketball under Davis since the 2012-2013 season. If he pulls off a Sweet 16 appearance, he may get poached by another school.

I thought we would make a run at him after Cuonzo. His history with infractions cost him a chance, then Hart turns around and hired a guy with a history that got fired after one year.

I'm sure they already knew they needed more depth before they could keep their foot on the gas for the entire game. And they are getting more depth.

Coaches stopped being aggressive trying to hold on to the leads and depending on the defense. It don't work against good teams unless the defense is rushing the qb on 4th and a mile or putting in a less athletic lb to try and guard an OK slot. Depth wasn't the reason

I was very frustrated with Martin in his final year, but he was also a controversial charge call and basket from the Elite Eight. I believe that Michigan team went to the Final Game. That UT team kicked it into another gear once they made the NCAAT.

Martin is a good defensive coach, and his players play hard. But the offense is poor, and his team's at UT didn't understand how to break a zone.

Love rooting for Middle. As a Murfreesboro native, it's great to see them get national press. Of course, if it's UT vs MT in anything, I'm rooting for Tennessee. But, they are a good mid-major program and deserve all the recognition they get. They have some fans with little brother syndrome, but a lot I've met are UT fans as well.

Bbq joint down the road sells Tshirts

The good MTSU
The Bad WKU
The Ugly UT

I asked why do they even think they are in the same category? Pissed the owner off. Told him might as well put the Patriots on the shirt. Same difference.

All of this.

Nothing against Middle. I was rooting for them. Heck I went there in the early 90's. Every fan base has "those fans" and seemingly I always work with them.

(I'm probably listed as "that fan" for UT)

I intended to write something profound about my journey as a Volunteer for my 2000 post...instead I posted this in the Thoughts and prayers for The Abernathy Brothers thread:

"Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and wonderful memories to help you smile again."

I think it'll do.

Do you even read? We're NOT comparing our team or recruiting classes here. Because of your original erroneous statement that our "best players were freshmen and sophomores" last year, that's what I'm discussing. Feel free to join the debate that you yourself started whenever you'd like.

Fact is, virtually no freshman on this team contributed anything last in relation to their older teammates. Jennings and PWill had a combined 21 catches. John Kelly ran for about 140 yards. Jack Jones got some spot duty at OG and played well...but only played in 9 games, only started 1 due to injury. Same with Chance Hall...played well when pressed into duty, but wouldn't gotten near the playing time he did if not for Kendrick's injury.

Defensively, Abernathy got a little run here and there but deferred to his better, older, more experienced teammates. The same was true of Phillips, Smith, KMac and Tuttle. They all made contributions but none of them did as much to earn playing time as the older players ahead of them on the depth chart. Even DKJr couldn't beat out an undersized, far less athletic walkon LB until game 4 or 5. And even then, as well as he played, he wasn't nearly as good as Junior JRM.

Perhaps you keep changing the subject because you know, deep down, that you don't have a leg to stand in here?
