Not really. Most of our best players were freshmen and sophomores while their best were juniors and seniors.

I underrated Florida heading into last season. But we were not far and away better. With Will Grier, Florida was a legit top 10 team.

Talk about being a liar....our best players were NOT mostly sophomores and freshmen, they were upperclassmen.....

Offense-
Dobbs was the best QB...he was a junior....unless you want to try and make a case here that freshman Dormady was better, which, given your arrogance, you might actually try to do.

Kerbyson was our best, most reliable OL at arguably the most important OL position...he was a RSSr. Wiesman was our best, most reliable OG and Freshman Chance Hall never would've made a start at RT had Brett Kendrick, a RSSoph, not been injured.

Von Pearson, a senior, was our best most productive WR. Soph Josh Malone was in the mix there, but most seem to think RSSoph Josh Smith was our best overall WR.

Most everybody will say Hurd was our best RB, and it's difficult to disagree, he was definitely the bell cow. However, RSSoph Kamara averaged 2 more yards per touch from scrimmage, was the second leading receiver in terms as catches on the team, and scored 71% as many TDs as Jalen while only getting 47% as many touches. So while I would agree that Soph Hurd was our best RB, 3rd year player Kamara was right there with him....and it sure as hell wasn't freshmen Kelly or Young.

Defense-
Safety- the best were RSSr Randolph who started all 13 games and was the 2nd leading tackler on the team... and LaDarrell McNeil who played in 11 games and started 10 of those. TKJr played in all 13 games as the 3rd safety but only started 2 games due to LaDarrell's neck injury.

CB- Junior Cam Sutton was and is clearly our best DB/CB and by the end of the season Jr Nickleback Malik Foreman was playing as well as any CB on the team.

LB- our best LB last year was Junior JRM who led us in tackles and tackles for loss.

DT- Owen Williams was our best DT last year....he was a senior. Junior Kendall Vickers and RSJr Danny OBrien were the next best, most reliable tackles we had....not the most talented, but clearly the best.

DE- Soph Barnett was clearly our best DE....followed by Junior Corey Vereen and RSJr Latroy Lewis. RSSr Maggitt would've been our second best DE had he not been injured.

Kickers-
We had 2 "kickers" last season....clearly, RSSoph punter Trevor Daniels was much better than placekicker Soph Aaron Medley.

So, you can keep peddling your complete BS line that our "best players last year were freshmen and sophomores" but that's clearly a lie. Our best players were our returning starters who almost always to a man were either 3rd year players (RSSophs or juniors), 4th year players (RSJrs or Srs) or 5th year players (RSSrs).

Still, we were far and away the better team than UF, and the coaching staff choked it up. Nothing changes that.

Players need to execute. Was it the Vikings HC fault Walsh missed that FG and were eliminated from the playoffs?

Coaches made mistakes but to out the total blame on them is comical. The players themselves had chances to win the game and they didn't.

You just named a lot of garbage players. Our classes in 2011, 2012, and 2013 don't compare to Florida. Florida's classes in 2011, 2012, and 2013 were better than ours. Thus their upperclassmen are better than ours. Naming all those seniors who played for us HURTS your argument that we were more talented than Florida since they came from classes ranked lower than Florida.

Just look at the combine invitees? Guys you're touting like Randolph, McNeil, Kerbyson, Williams, and Pearson weren't even invited to combine.

If you think guys like Randolph, Owen Williams, and Latroy Lewis compare to Keanu Neal, Jonathan Bullard, and Alex McAllister (3 guys invited to the combine), then bless your heart.

Maybe I should have been more precise and said our most TALENTED players were freshmen and sophomores.

I personally thought Shy Tuttle TRUE FRESHMEN was our best DT when healthy. I personally thought Justin Martin TRUE SOPHOMORE was our best CB after the Alabama game when he became a starter. I thought Todd Kelly Jr. was our best safety ahead of McNeil and Randolph. You can add Darrin Kirkland Jr. to the list. And so on.

Our top 5 classes were in 2014 and 2015. Thus when you look at our roster, most of our best players are freshmen and sophomores.

I thought Pearson's alleged incident was last summer some time, and the AJJ/Michael Williams case was near the end of the 2014 season. Is there another one we don't know about, or am I just blanking on something? This one says it occurred on Sept 20, 2015.

There were two graduate transfers...the accused played in the Western Carolina and Vanderbilt games only.

You just named a lot of garbage players. Kerbyson was not better than Coleman Thomas, Jashon Robertson, or Chance Hall. I even preferred Dylan Weisman over him eventhough he was a junior.

All the receivers sucked so I don't care of you preferred Pearson. I could easily argue Malone and Wolf were our best pass catchers.

Onto defense. Barnett was the only constant at DE. And our best DT was Shy Tuttle (when we played Florida). Darrin Kirkland was our best MLB.

Justin Martin our second best CB. And TKjr was our best safety even with limited snaps.

If you think guys like Randolph, Owem Williams, and Latroy Lewis compare to Keanu Neal, Jonathan Bullard, and Alex McAllister (3 guys invited to the combine), then bless your heart.

So I named a lot of "garbage players"...lol. Boy, you're one helluva fan....kids who have give their commitment and heart to rep the orange and white and you call em "garbage". Not surprised.

1. Kerbyson was absolutely our best OL last year, along with Wiesman. I'll give you Coleman as he really improved and flourished after moving back to his natural position. Jashon was injured the entire season and was pretty much average all year long. Hall stepped in and played very well as freshman.....AFTER 3rd year player/RSSoph Kendrick started the first 5 games and couldn't play due to injury.

2. You made the absurd statement that our best players were freshmen and sophomores.....Pearson was neither, he was a senior. And Josh Smith was a 3rd year RSSoph. No freshman WR did much of anything last year and the only sophomore to produce anything was Malone. Try to stay focused here.

3. Barnett got off to a very slow start (2.5 TFLs, 1 sack after 5 gms), so he was not our only constant on defense. JUNIOR JRM was outstanding all year long, recording more tackles and more TFLs than Barnett....and he was light years better than freshman DKJr or any other LB on the roster. JUNIOR Vereen was very much a constant last year at DE opposite Barnett...39 tackles, 3rd on the team in TFLs behind JRM and DB, 3.5 sacks....perhaps you can recall his play vs Alabama...he was our best DL that day with 5 tackles, 2.5 TFLs and 2 sacks.

4. I agree that sophomore Justin Martin was our second best CB (behind JUNIOR Cam Sutton) when he finally cracked the starting lineup halfway through the season. And again, by the latter part of the season, JUNIOR Malik Foreman was playing as well as either of them.

And how the hell do you justify saying that TKJr was our best safety, when he couldn't beat out either RSSr Randolph or SENIOR LaDarrel McNeil to be a starter? It's just not true. Feel free to take it up with Jones, Jancek and Martinez since they started Randolph in all 13 games and McNeil in the 10 of 11 games he was cleared to play? .....they might even watch as much film as you do.

And only you would declare Tuttle our best DT last year. Lol. He didn't start any of the 6 games he played in, averaged 1.6 tackles per game, and had no TFLs or sacks. Same goes for freshman KMac who had 1 sack & 1 TFL. Meanwhile, Senior Owen Williams was very good all season long with 35 tackles and 6.5 TFLs and a sack.

5. Finally, try to stay focused my little narcissistic and racist buddy.....no one was making any comparison whatsoever between our DLs and Florida's....you said OUR best players last year were all sophomores and freshmen. I only focused on that statement and just proved that ridiculous, uninformed opinion to be wrong. If anybody need his little heart blessing it's you.

I picked Cal to go fairly far because Cuonzo having success in the tourney is a very Vols thing to happen. I guess he can't even take advantage of the fact that the sports gods hate us.

Okay...stop right there. You do realize it's Dobbs4Heisman you're arguing with?? NOBODY is better than Dobbs.

Overall a nice, logical post but you do know he watches A LOT of film, right?

Easily the biggest win in MTSU athletics history. Kermit Davis is hitting his stride as a coach lately. Did nothing for a decade in the Boro, but has been pretty damn good over the past 5 seasons.
