Perhaps, and plausible. My initial take was Hillary trying to work a bit of pandering into her comments without any concern (or knowledge) for actual history. Maybe it was an honest mistake but what a blunder. Trying to praise the Reagans with something which is actually a mar on their legacy.

Wouldn't be the first time she did that. It just seems very unlike her to alienate a group that generally would support her candidacy (at least, the advocacy organizations) for the sake of praising conservative icons for something they didn't even do.

Oh, I agree on the alienation bit. I think it was a case of not knowing/remembering history correctly or confusing AIDS and Alzheimer's.
