Good grief- just when things calm down the slightest bit the storm returns. Did The War Room hint at what might be coming now? I just don't see how Butch would go down with only the Bowles allegations at this point. He has immediately suspended Every Single Player who has ever been in any kind of trouble to let the law do their due diligence. What more can the man do?! And at the same time, UNC has had a fake college for years and Louisville has hookers and god knows what else but let's bring down UT instead national media.

Just read it. National media interviewed plaintiffs so sound like prob get a lot of repetitive stuff. The rest seemed to be what if. What if there is an employee that has damning comment etc. while media is on campus.

I mean I'm sure if they ask 100 people on campus they are bound to find one disgruntled employee

Trying hard to make us not enjoy what should be a great yr

Regarding the lawsuit.... it was clear from the first day the news hit that the lawyers wanted to battle this in the court of public opinion and that they were going to be as nasty and low down as they could be. At that time, I advocated for paying them their blood money because the PR wasn't worth it and this is essentially a no-win scenario for the university because even if you win the suit you still lose PR.

Now though these lawyers have gone so over aggressively after anyone who happens to talk about the lawsuit that they've pushed things from the pay them to 'fine, you really want to go there? let's drag this bizwitch out and fight them every step of the way' category. It's odd but they're over aggression has backfired in terms of moving me towards a settlement -- I think they've gone too far and need to pay for that mistake in court.

ICYMI...Barnes confirms Kevin Punter will have foot surgery next Tuesday, so we won't see him suit up for the Vols again. I tip my cap to him. It's been a bad year, but would have been so much worse if not for him.

Glad you are seeing this for what it is. Welcome aboard.

When they played the court of public opinion, they were seeking others to add to help build their case as well as tainting the prospective jury pool. They did it because they know they have a weak case that needed more propping up. They are trying to plant the seed to influence all they can and build pressure for a settlement.

UT should let them play their games because it reveals some of their weak spots and after a time the public will move on to the next story. For most fans this part makes everybody uneasy, but it is necessary. Once that subsides, they can then unleash unholy h*** on the lies and liars behind closed doors with discovery, depositions, pre-trial attorney conferences, etc. The plaintiff's attorney will then attempt to extract what they can get once they see their window of opportunity is closing. If there are any weak spots in UT's case they do not want exposed to public scrutiny they will settle at a lower, insurer accepted level with clear conditions that include no recognition of wrong doing. If their position is very strong, they attack full force and proceed toward trial. Odds are the plaintiffs will be wanting to settle on the courthouse steps by this point and will take a pittance compared to the original filing.

As a Vol fan for long term recovery purposes you want to proceed toward trial. The court of public opinion has already been tainted. You want redemption.

Thanks, Ziti. High praise from you since you have been in my favorites for some time now. Have seen, been involved in, and personally handled a lot through the years. This forum is just the best. A great hang out to solve the problems of the world. :)

Hats off to the Lady Vols and Holly. I've been very hard on them and especially Holly this year, but she has them probably playing their best ball of the year. Still not sure Holly is the right answer, but I'll give her a little credit for motivating this team to play loose so far this SEC tourney.
