I'm not trying to diss North at all but I think some are taking it that way since Hunter hasn't done much in the pros but to me Hunter will always be a great WR. At any rate, North has had some great moments but most of his physical play was his freshman year and even then he was relied more on his talent (running, jumping, catching) than on busting up fools. That's not an insult. I certainly don't think he's a soft player but I don't think he and Da'Rick have much in common other than looks.

Sending a WR to the NFL is not going to get us murdered in WR recruiting.

In 13 and 14 he was. 2015, he wasn't. Just know enough who are close to program and he saved himself this year and was still fighting thru injuries. I do not think he has the poor attitude BB stated because he wasn't targeted as much. If he did, then that would've been a issue. He was hurt most of this year and last. This year, he decided to get healthy and prepare more for what he is doing now. TIFWIW which is not much on a message board.

I agree. I as said as much a few posts ago. Pretty clear me when he was in he looked fine, he just took it easy.

Here's a link to the discussion about it a month and a half ago. Hyams said North would take himself out to save himself for the NFL.

Jimmy Hyams has more journalistic integrity than the bulk of the national media. We all need to appreciate that.

Preston Williams didn't practice but we sure as hell gave him chances after a week of practice. Explain that...... Lack of practice didn't hurt him gameplanning wise and he hadn't played one snap.

Then maybe you answered your own question. If they did it for one, then something must have given them pause to do it for another. It's all speculation at this point.

So, after north put up the time he did today, added to his other measurable's, I'm sure NFL teams will be interested in him. What do you think Butch Jones will say to the teams if they call asking about north?

Nothing about positives. It doesn't help a coach to badmouth a player even if he deserves it. Butch Jones livelihood depends on guys like North getting drafted.

Because if you can't put guys into the league, elite recruits won't be interested. And if elite recruits aren't interested, we won't be winning.

Plus it's just impossible for me to believe that our coaches just didn't get him the ball for no other reason than because they are stupid.

The most overused and most commonly incorrect phrase on VN is "there's just no explanation for that."

I agree. Dobbs losing Croom, Pig, and North took away some security for him. Hopefully with Malone as a solid #1 they can develop chemistry that so lacked last year.
