Anybody got any ideas for dinner?

Your ok Bruin
Just a little argumentative at times. We all know it and you know it.So some where in the middle should be a happy median for all.I do think you bring some good stuff to the board also.If your not a lawyer right now maybe a change in career would help.:)

I found a video clip of that conversation.

Did anyone see where Nkemdiche threw his teammate, Tunsil, under the bus when he was being asked about the incident in the hotel room in ATL? I think he said something about he was drunk and that Tunsil was in the room with him.

Nick, I'm not sure I'd make a parallel between "God's anointed" and Butch, but I really appreciate the spirit of your advice. If your travels ever bring you to Budapest, please let me know. Would love to hear more of what the Lord is doing out your way.

Crokev talking Budapest, Nick in Thai town, RFFT going international.

If those who listen to, or talk about, Bruin are that screwed up, imagine how bad he actually is. I assume that he is at least as obsessive internally as he is externally.

Imagine him trying to order a pizza:
Bruin: Let's get pepperoni.
Bruin: But pepperoni is greasy, and you know how your bowels do on greasy food.
Bruin: But I really like pepperoni.
Bruin: But what if they made non-greasy pepperoni.
Bruin: They don't.
Bruin: But what if they did?
Bruin: Whatever.
Bruin: Yeah...well maybe chicken. Chicken isn't greasy.
Bruin: Right, but chicken may be subject to bird flu.
Bruin: Well...yeah...but humans can't catch that from eating cooked chicken on pizza.
Bruin: But if you could, then you might catch bird flu and die...
Bruin: ...if the chicken actually had bird flu...
Bruin: ...and if it wasn't part of a drug test program for a secret bird flu drug.
Bruin: But if it was, you might or might not be in the control group...
Bruin: ...and may or may not get the treated chicken...
Bruin: ...who may or may not have bird flu...
Bruin: ...which may to may not be transmissible to humans via pizza sauce.
Bruin: Right. Ok...what about beef?
Bruin: ...but mad cow...<CRASH!>
Bruin: Huh?
<sound of falling glass as neighbor jumps out window>
Bruin: <furrows brow> Darn...seven years bad luck. So yeah...mad cow...

And all of this is the fault of UT Football

Maybe

Right, guys?

This is all about $$$. Clay Travis had a really great explanation for us non lawyers about criminal vs civil yesterday. He said criminal has to have 99.8% no reasonable doubt. Civil is more like 51%. You only have to prove that something could have possibly happened and not that it actually did happen.Im sure that is why most people settle. He said plaintiffs lawyers in civil suits are only after $$$. They only get paid if it settles or they win case. So they throw as much crap at the wall to scare the other side into settling.

I deal in civil cases on a daily basis. Tennessee is a modified comparative negligence state meaning that if you are found to be 50% liable for whatever the tort action is you are barred from recovery. You can be 49% at fault and your recovery be reduced by that percentage. The plaintiff attorneys want it to settle however I'm sure they could prove Tennessee a % at fault in the courtroom which would still get each person a little money and I bet the headlines would read "victims win case against UT."

This is a major flaw in our judicial system...If the criminal court finds you innocent....how can a lesser court order you to pay millions? I don't even pretend to entertain the fact that this makes sense. #REFORM

I'm pretty clear of the difference between guilt and liability and the need to distinguish between the two for a fair criminal justice system.

Good to hear.Any chance you can get rid of my alimony.

You know, though, to me it's just as irritating to see 78 posts about not liking Bruin's posts. I get tired of him beating stuff into the ground. But I get just as annoyed by the ones that argue back and the ones that feel the need to call him out, like that's going to change anything. I mean, seriously, how much of an inconvenience is it in your life to simply scroll past stuff? You know by the first few words of the post if it's something you're legitimately interested in seeing, or if it's just some more tired drivel. You might not like it, but Bruin is a Vol fan just like the rest of us.
How hard is it for you to scroll past the posts complaining about him??

First, a criminal court doesn't have to find you innocent to be acquitted. They have to find you not guilty, and there is a distinction. Second, there isn't a "lesser court." It's simply a civil court as opposed to a criminal court, and the suit in civil court alleges a different cause of action (i.e. Title IX violation) instead of a crime. Different burdens, different proof. A criminal result will almost never determine the outcome of a civil case.
