CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

From CBJ

Butch needs to charge his phone

So at what point does anyone plan on digging into the women's basketball program?

In this PC world? Not a chance a woman's program gets investigated. Anyone even raising a question would be labeled a woman-hating misogynist and be charged with a hate crime.

Again No what?

What do you mean? He (and the accuser) were granted a waiver to take their exams...after which Pearson was suspended from school. Had he needed summer school to be eligible in the fall his career at UT would have been over.

I'm sure if you look back that you can find statements from his attorney asking why Williams was allowed to remain in school and his client was not.

I'm watching the basketball game, I'll see if I can find it later.

The thing is it doesn't matter, I'm not the leader of a football team with a purported issue with turning a blind eye to sexual violence.

If he called him a traitor, and it can be proven, he's gone. You can't have the head of your football team calling a player a traitor for siding with someone who was allegedly raped by other members of the football team.

There is going to be zero way to prove Butch said those things. Therefore, this is simply an allegation. Butch isn't going anywhere, and he shouldn't go anywhere. Also, if you think that all the players were mad about a supposed rape cover up you are sadly mistaken. DB was mad she was trying to sleep with about half the fball team!

Butch must have the same lawyer as Peyton

Whoever writes their stuff really does a bad job of denying the specific thing they are being accused of.

It should have directly quoted the statement in the refile and then state he never said that or anything like that.

It is like Duke Lacrosse, utter nonsense mixed with antagonistic media and money hungry "victims."

Yep.....how long before the Marxist faculty at UT start making demands and marching for "Justice" like the idiots at Duke did? Just wait for it.

Butch responded saying that he would never belittle a young man and he is fightng the false attacks on his character

EDIT: nevermind just checked last page, you guys are too quick

Haven't read the remainder of affid, but Per below, it seems possible (if not most probable) to me -- if the affid is truly reflective below -- that CBJ was under a different impression of the prior nite's events (surely he didn't know the full extent of the events at this time). Does the affid explicitly clarify what CBJ was "disappointed" in? Could it be, that CBJ was under a legitimately false impression (ie, not fully then-knowing the seriousness of the prior nite's circumstances)?

194. After this assault by Maggitt, on Sunday, Bowles called Coach Jones to relate what had happened. Coach Jones stated to Bowles he was very disappointed in Bowles and that he had “betrayed the team.” Bowles became extremely upset, broke down and cried.

195. Several hours after this phone call Jones called Bowles and apologized for calling Bowles a traitor to the team.

196. The next day, Monday November 17
th
Bowles went to eat at Smokey’s Sports Grill in the Anderson Training Center. He purposively sat by himself away from other teammates.

I was agreeing with you. But, I will be very interested to see UT's side of it.

My fault. I read it the wrong way. And same here.

If UT can side step this until this particular case goes to trial, this particular allegation will have absolutely no merit.

The case that's involved in this lawsuit is still being investigated. These kinds of articles are damaging, especially considering these are unsubstantiated allegations. Why is it that everyone is always ready to believe the worst? Unbelievable. It's also unbelievable to me that Butch Jones would jeopardize his career, considering he has been so methodical in his approach.

I think Bowles did what he thought was right. Maggitt was wrong if he hit Bowles, but I think it was just a reaction to the charges against Johnson who I believe is a close friend. I don't think people should be down on Bowles for doing what he believed was right.

It was all about white males, now it is all males. This idiocy is spreading. Victimhood is alive and thriving as means of existence.

Anyone else noticed where he said " judicial process"?? Sounds like this is going to court.

Look guys, these plaintiffs may very well win this suit...who knows. The important thing here (if you're looking at the rise of UT football alone) is that CBJ denies what Bowles is accusing him of doing. That is the most damning part of this whole thing to UT Football.

I suspect he denies. Can't be proven otherwise; and UT Football moves along.

Not minimizing the alleged crimes, just looking at thing having two different plaintiffs trying to escape things: the University and the Football Program. The Univetsity will have a tough battle on their hands but definitely not buried bc of Bowles' statements considering the inconsistencies.
