CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

That's an important question and if it did come from Johnson and Williams' alleged victim (a litigant) instead of Bowles, then that needs to emphasized. The Tennessean will not point that out on their own.

This will get ugly for sure. The lawyers are using The Tennessean (Anita W.) as a conduit for maximum bad publicity against Jones and the football program because they know that will hurt recruiting and in turn, do the most damage as quickly as possible. They want to apply pressure toward a quick settlement.
You nailed it

Now hold on a damn minute, didn't bowles sign a grand jury statement saying he was never assaulted? And also it seems the lawsuit has changed its story from Bowles was jumped to he was struck once in the mouth. And they also originally stated that the 2nd fight he was jumped by multiple players.

Im so sick of the lies

from the same linked story.

Bowles, who transferred to UT Chattanooga shortly after the November 2014 incidents, provided the account of events in a sworn affidavit filed in federal court in Nashville.

Gotta love The Tennessean, otherwise known as Pravda on the River. All one-sided, no context, quotes from plaintiffs' lawyers. Another fine job/hit piece.

Here's a tweet from Danny Parker of Scout....

"So much of the actual story is being conveniently left out by some members of the media. Agendas are ruining the reputation of fine people."

Ok as of now I am calling BS on this. If Butch had said something so heinous I have a very hard time believing it would have taken this long to surface. Unless there is an audio recording of the alleged incident I am saying the accusation is a big pile of horses**t

I agree - CBJ supposedly punching Crowder last season got more 'talk' than this Bowles lie ever did

There was an amended filing......today.

From Matt Slovin......

"Curt Maggitt also punched Drae Bowles in the face, according to Bowles’ sworn affidavit that was included in amended filing today."

The bad perception of UT is already out there. Guilty or not, which I don't think Butch said this, it's another shot at UT. This will only become worse, if UT does not settle. The "reports" will become more and more heinous.

This is why we can't have nice things.

The sworn testimony sounds believable. I don't think Butch should be fired, especially if he apologized after a "heat of the moment" outburst, but it will never look good.

So what the hell is Hart doing? Sitting on his hands like always. I'm looking for a strong response - one way or the other - regarding this.

I'm appalled that there has been no evidence presented to a jury in the AJ case. It has been more than long enough. Plaintiffs / defendants need some justice / closure on this case.

I just hope we don't cave in and settle. Make these litigants prove their case in a court of law. If the bad publicity hurts our football recruiting in the process, so be it.

Gee, I wonder if this had happened to Maggit's or even Orta's sister would they have acted the same toward Bowles. WOW.

They knew she was sexting Johnson for some time wanting him. They knew she had plans for that night. AJ showed them the texts. This chick was raped that night by AJ like I was. I don't know how Williams fits into this mess

Not worried about Coach Jones, he is doing a great job. Can't wait for the truth to get out. Grandstanding 101, anybody can say things to make you look bad but that don't mean they are true. It's a sad state when folks try to play their hand out in the media too get paid.

This is my opinion too...even if some of the individual events occurred as said, they have to prove that the University created the culture to breed such action...which will be almost impossible.

You should have said upfront, per the Nashville Tennesseean, a UT-hating Vandy rag. I wouldn't have wasted my time to read this far.
