So, I don't mean to sound like a dick...but has anyone ever done less to help a football team than Drae Bowles?

Didn't he literally testify that he wasn't assaulted? I find myself skeptical.

With the country on fire, I decide maybe some football news will provide an escape. But it looks like the program is on fire as well.

A VQ reporter was on 104.5 a couple of weeks ago and said "Drae testified under oath in front of the Grand Jury that no assault took place." He also said he has known Drae and his dad for a long time. His dad is a police officer and he didn't think for one minute Drae would lie under oath.

This right here. Drae will be seen as a liar if he changes his story, which will nullify a lot of there allegations involving that entire case.

The lawyers are probably telling Drae that he can be part of this money grab, too.

Didn't someone report that there were eyewitness to an assault? My guess is Drae isn't involved in this. The lawyers are using hearsay.

Edit: went back and read Bowles provided these new details in a sworn statement.

As an aside, does it strike anyone else as odd/inappropriate that the Tennessean's UT sports beat writer Matt Slovin is listed as the primary author of this story? His day-to-day is far too close to the program to be writing stuff like this.

He can pretty much kiss any access to the program beyond traditional media avails goodbye at this point.

Jesus Christ, what else can come out....wish they would just say all they had at once instead of dragging it out....true Tennessee form to have this goi g on when they have a great shot to make the final four...smdh

This is part of the attorneys' ploy. They likely have several more bombshells lined up to keep this story in the news for weeks or even months.

Now it's up to the university to decide if it's better to just settle and end it or fight it and get dragged through the mud the entire way.

Dustin dopriak retweeted knox-news story on it. Drae signed the affidavit, signed 2/23,that everything was true

I'll say this, Hart's presser tomorrow just got a lot more interesting. Ill be interested to see he handles this. Could be a make or break moment.

First off, how many guys have been proven guilty... Second, all these guys were suspended, what else is he suppose to do. Is butch gonna be put on administrative leave after this. It's one guys word against another.

If AJ and Williams are found not guilty then this becomes a simple Drae Bowles got beat up and called a traitor. Not drae Bowles got beat up and called a traitor for helping a girl who was raped.

Unfortunately, the media would never let that be the story, even if their accuser completely recanted.

So basically the Knox news story included a pdf of a signed declaration from Drae saying the included was true etc. but I'm not sure if the assault was included in this declaration. It is possible that his declaration only included the conversations with Butch, and that they're relying on the other eye witnesses for testimony about the assault.

But again that's all conjecture and I could be reading it wrong

Maybe he's getting pressured by the fact he stands to maybe make some money from TN by changing his story. See how easy that is. TN's lawyers will eat him up if this goes to court. At some point, he has lied...he's untrustworthy in the court's eyes.
