CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

If this allegation is true and can be proved then it's bye bye to Butch.

That's the key, though. How can you prove that Butch said that? If Bowles didn't record the initial conversation, this allegation is just that--an allegation. Can't be proven.

I cannot believe that Coach Jones would be stupid enough to say some dumbass crap as this. Too much evidence to the contrary.

It would be ironic as hell if Mr. Coach Speak 3000 ended up getting canned for going off script and saying something incredibly stupid.

If this is indeed true, Jones will be losing a lot of support.

Wow, I can't imagine coach doing this to Drae.

Hope this is cleared up very soon.

The only way I would approve of the Butch Jones fire is if we rehire Derek Dooley to take his place. That is about the only way to make sense out of the sh!t storm that is Tennessee Athletics.

how is that bad news or incriminating in any way shape or form? Some of you guys are like a bunch of women in a beauty parlor just waiting for gossip.

First of all we all feel for the lady involved however you are suppose to be innocent until proven guilty not the other way around.

And based on the stories of what happen Bowles believed the woman involved before confronting his team mates. And from what I have heard this is a woman Bowles was dating and when confronted by Bowles the woman lied by saying she was raped. Word is Bowles is the one that called the police with the girl not knowing otherwise this would have never been reported.

So without going through a trial yet and gathering information of what happen I would say Coach Jones is upset at Bowles for not talking to his team mates before believing the girl.

I for one think CBJ is completely correct!

I'm not buying this. This is a smear campaign of the highest order with people looking to get a huge pay day. If it were remotely truthful, then there wouldn't have been a need to drag Peyton through the mud with it.

I'm sorry Drae, I now think you're completely full of crap.

I have heard that Jones shielded Bowles from retribution from the rest of the team. Make no mistake these claims are meant to create maximum amounts of bad publicity (successful, so far) and are not keeping things in context or telling both sides of the story. There are drama queens on here for sure.

Looks like Bowles' latest sworn affidavit was included in the amended lawsuit filed today. Imagine that-- Bowles changing his story when big money's at stake for the alleged victim, AKA his girlcrush. Now who could've seen that coming?

Ok as of now I am calling BS on this. If Butch had said something so heinous I have a very hard time believing it would have taken this long to surface. Unless there is an audio recording of the alleged incident I am saying the accusation is a big pile of horses**t

He said she said BS. If true (which I doubt) then we should panic. No reason to panic until then. I don't want to sound insensitive because if there were rapes that occurred and the program covered them up then people should go but this seems like a money grab. It's a problem with our society. They know the university will settle because they can't afford not to. Regardless of the validity.

Yup they want to make enough stink to force UT to settle. At this point it is working well.

IF CBJ didn't say it he'll be fuming at the complex. Think about how angry he seemed over "football party" yesterday. I can't imagine he wouldn't want to deny this publicly asap.

Is this sworn affidavit testimony from Bowles himself or hearsay from one of the litigators again?

That's an important question and if it did come from Johnson and Williams' alleged victim (a litigant) instead of Bowles, then that needs to emphasized. The Tennessean will not point that out on their own.

This will get ugly for sure. The lawyers are using The Tennessean (Anita W.) as a conduit for maximum bad publicity against Jones and the football program because they know that will hurt recruiting and in turn, do the most damage as quickly as possible. They want to apply pressure toward a quick settlement.
