That weigh in will be a circus.

SN: How do y'all feel about Rory vs Wonderboy? Rogan said he "may or may not" have already done a commentary preview hyping that fight up. I'm torn..Rory is one of my favorite fighters but wanted Thompson to get the next title shot. Rory has a better chance of beating him than anybody.

Dana said that Aldo and Frankie Edgar were called and turned down the fight. I'm assuming that meant a bump up to lightweight for both of them, since Conor was at that weight.

And at welterweight. McGregor has never fought that heavy. It will be interesting to see if that affects his speed. I still see him taking it, but if Diaz gets it to the ground he has a shot. His BJJ is legit.

Agreed. Conor needs to rely on his striking, if he gets taken down by a bigger, stronger opponent like Diaz, I don't see it going well for him.

Diaz' biggest weakness is how much he leans on that front leg. Wrestlers and heavy leg strikers have totally exploited that, but Conor won't have as strong of an advantage as other fighters there.

Diaz can take a beating. Diaz is dangerous, no matter how bad he is losing.

It will be a fun one, I think. Smart money is on McG, of course.

Complete bull****...Edgar was reportedly hurt anyway. Aldo would have been a moron to agree too.

Aldo's got to redeem himself. He may not get another chance. His last fight isn't what he wants to be remembered for. He has to fight CMG again, whatever the weight may be.

He knows he will get a chance. He didn't need to be desperate and take the fight on such short notice.

Maybe. But when? If he beats McGregor now, his legend will be restored. If he puts up a good fight, he will save face.

Also, I'd want a shot at an undefeated McG. It won't be the same if Aldo is his 2nd or 3rd loss.

Aldo doesn't have to cut much weight, if any, so going on short notice shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Agreed, I wouldn't have accepted if I was either of them. Edgar has a groin injury and as far as Aldo, I'm sorry, if you get knocked out, you need to take a long time to come back to the cage. Anytime a fighter tries to rush back after a big KO, they are way more susceptible to them again, IMO. Aldo needs to recover and train his ass off and fight again for the belt later this year.

Diaz/McGregor presser is a s*** show, as predicted.

Edit: Diaz now leveling accusations that McGregor is on steroids.

In 28 fights, Diaz has only been KO'd once and submitted once. His KO was a head kick from Thomson, then strikes on the ground and he was still defending himself (tho it was good stoppage), so he's never been knocked out cold.

That's crazy he's only been finished twice, because he's had his ass totally kicked more than a few times.

I don't see him beating Conor standing. If he can get it on the ground, it could be interesting. He might have to eat a few to get it there, but his chin is solid.

I just can't see him beating him standing like Ethan said. He's a VERY good test for Conor if he can hold his own for a while. Will be an extremely interesting fight once they both step into the octagon.

After watching the presser, I would venture to guess that McG actually likes Diaz, maybe even considered himself a Diaz fan at one point. He taunted him to hype the fight, but there is an obvious respect there.

Conor has made trash talking an art. More than just insults. He really has a way with words and hyping the audience up. It will always be like that no matter who he fights, although Diaz could very well have been an influence on him.

I noticed this as well.

I'm riding with this guy
