Burn it down...

I would be using female restrooms all the time. Leaving the seat up, taking all the TP, dropping massive deuces, etc

It really pisses me off that now even a restroom is not a safe place. My daughter, at 7, will not be allowed to go to a restroom at Applebee's by herself. My wife will have to go with her, to check for weirdos. That's what it has come to. The law is once again on the wrong side of morality. And girls pee about every 10 minutes. So now every time my daughter had to go, my wife will go, and when they return there will be a moment of nonverbal communication betweeny wife and I where I will look at her and she will confirm that everything was normal on there. What the heck is wrong with people? There is no descrimination here. There are gay festivals, chuches, bars clubs etc....gays are not oppressed in charlotte. They are accepted. Which doesn't bother me. What they do is their business. Bit when you put them up close and personal with my girls, we got business. Period. This city has elected Democrat mayors, Obama etc...it is very liberal and probably half Yankee. 2 out of the 3 largest banks on this continent have towers downtown. I get that. This law is different. Shameful. And I know that there areany liberals on this board that will diSagres with me . I don't care. They are wrong.

When was a public restroom ever a "safe" place? You act like we're playing tag and it's home base or something. There are same sex molesters and sexual assailants. There also aren't any bodyguards checking to make sure people currently go in the right bathroom.

The same dangers exist now. Maybe something is a little more likely to happen now, but you guys are going overboard.

God is loving. I LovE My Kids Far More Than Anyone else. I also mean what I say when I tell them not to do things. And that there will be consequences if they do. My God loves us beyond measure. He means what He says though. I am not going to argue religion with folks here. It's pointless . Legislation that I feel is insane was passed in the place that I work and frequent, fortunately a place that I no longer live. There are people here who agree with me. There are those that disagree. That is politics. And this is the politics forum.good day

If you aren't going to "argue religion" then shut your piehole about asking God to burn down a city because you don't like what they do.

Also, are your consequences for your kids that you're going set them on fire when they disobey? Because I doubt you'd think anyone who did that is "merciful" and "loving".

If that is your concern, why do you assume that a sexual predator would be stopped by the women's only sign on the restroom door? Is it a magic sign?
Absolutely. Just like people that use guns in a gun free zone. So since you liberals want to ban guns from gun owners, what can we take away from sexual predators?

So this makes it physically easier to get into a bathroom?

Yes, I believe it will. The reason I say that is because of the taboo that is currently associated with it. People will know they are being watched. No pun intended.

As a side note; is it really that difficult to just go to a bathroom based on genitalia? I almost never get into these type of debates, but is this where the LGBT community needs to make a stand? I support most of their other causes, but this seems so silly to me.

Personally I doubt we will see an increase in sexual assaults as a result of these laws. What might increase is the sneaky picture stuff.

I'm of the opinion that "sneaky picture stuff" will most definitely increase. Sexual assaults will most likely increase, as well. Probably not at the same rate, but it will.

I believe marcus' problem is with the possibility of a sexual predator using this ordinance as an opportunity to fulfill his/her immoral desire. I believe that to be true, as well. Marcus and I are fairly far removed from one another on the political scale, but in this instance, I agree with him. This seems like common sense to me.

Is there more to the story that I am missing here? If so, someone please enlighten me.

Nice post TRM. I'm a bit surprised that so many are still taking such a strong position against the opportunities this presents for voyeurism or worse, when FallGuy has already cited a couple of actual examples. I'm sure many are likely just responding to the OP as it was a bit strong, but that does not mean that it is an incorrect position. A big problem imo is that these new laws do not determine the requirements as to how one "identifies their gender". How are they going to arrest someone who dresses as a woman one day and decides to hangout in a women's public restroom? How can they prove he didn't associate as a female that day?

I feel sorry for this dudes kids. Imagine having a father that would go on a public forum, viewed by thousands, and declare that he wants God to destroy a large city with fire. Hopefully they inherited a bit more intelligence from the mom's gene pool.

I agree, I've been in a lot of public bathrooms and even ones with trough style urinals where your shoulder to shoulder, I'd argue that even in that environment - if you see a dick, you're trying to see a dick.

Aside from in Tuscaloosa, I'm fairly certain that all female restrooms have stalls instead of stand up urinals.

Anyway, I think this much ado about nothing.

Were those examples of voyeurism a result of the gender neutral bathrooms or simply something that occurred in one? Be careful, your arguments here will be used against you in a gun thread.

Nobody that starts a sentence like that wants to meet Jesus today. Whether they think they do or not.I guarantee you that.

Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Whether or not you choose to believe in Him now has absolutely no bearing on the fact that you will stand before Him and be judged. Every man is appointed once to die, and then the judgment. Hell will be packed.

Please tell me where the Bible covers the word ****.

You already know my answer, but you have so little respect for the other side of any argument that you choose to make a ridiculous statement in an attempt to make my opinion seem silly.

You know as well as I do that it is more apt to happen if there is easy access. I realize you will not respond with any sort of rational thought (presumably due to a lack of ability), so I will treat your following response(s) as such.

Yeah Ron, just stick with the funny posts.

Yep just last year a man snuck into the women's bathroom at big lots and tried grabbing a woman but she got away. Now he can just go in there and hang out. I don't think it is a very smart thing to allow in today's times.

I know you probably don't get out of Maryville very often, but gender neutral bathrooms are all over my city, and there's not some rampant epidemic of sexual assault that results from it.

Wake up.

Also, key words: Big Lots. What else can you expect from a chain that ranks below Kmart?

Do you support NAMBLA or at least think that they are harmless?

Do you live in Austin? They don't have a law for gender neutral stalls regarding multiple stall units. They did create a law for gender neutral individual bathrooms which I don't think anyone perceived as a problem.
