I still think Sri Srinivasan gets the nod and if the Republicans refuse to even consider him they will come off looking foolish.
GV had a very pragmatic approach and if the Republicans suggested working together on this one, it would paint Obama in a corner if he refused. Instead of the Republicans looking like petulant children it would be the dems.
Been funny hearing Barry talk about what the constitution calls for him to do, he has never gave a damn about it until he needs to use for his own selfish reasons
When pressed for clarification on Obama missing the funeral, White House press secretary Josh Earnest repeated that "the president will pay his respects at the Supreme Court on Friday and he'll be joined with the first lady when he does that."
When asked whether Obama's Saturday plans include golfing, Earnest stressed instead that the president believes it is important to honor Scalia's life and service.
You expected anything less from the President that skipped the funeral of the highest ranking General killed in combat since Vietnam and the funeral for the President of Poland?
and sent no one to the French memorial for Charlie Hebdo (when every one else was there).
Hope he plays terribly at what ever course he's at that day...
Hillary Clinton took Democrats criticism of Senate Republicans in the debate over filling the Supreme Courts sudden vacancy to a new level on Tuesday, suggesting those calling on President Obama not to nominate someone are motivated by race.
The Democratic presidential candidate accused Republicans of talking in coded racial language and tied that to the ongoing battle over who should replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia and who should nominate that replacement.
Now the Republicans say theyll reject anyone President Obama nominates, no matter how qualified. Some are even saying he doesnt have the right to nominate anyone. As if somehow hes not the real president, she said.
You know, thats in keeping with what weve heard all along, isnt it? Many Republicans talk in coded racial language about takers and losers. They demonize President Obama and encourage the ugliest impulses of the paranoid fringe. This kind of hatred and bigotry has no place in our politics or our country.
And when all else fails? Race card!
