AD is responsible for VANDY LOSS!!!

This would be a really interesting thread if the AD had any real responsibility for basketball scheduling. Alas, he doesn't. The coach puts together the nonconference portion and the SEC office handles the league slate. Thus, this is simply another substanceless, uniformed trainwreck.

Good to see Delta got you there, and back, safely...

Soutwest. Actually, I'm sitting on the runway in Jacksonville waiting to complete the trip to South Florida. I love it when Southwest doesn't tell you about one of the stops on your itinerary.

I didn't read the entire entry but I could've sworn I heard some Pouges music in the movie The Departed. I usually hang with some people from Ireland when I go to Naples in late summer/early fall each year. They are pushing 60 I'd guess but they love that music.

edit: Having checked the soundtrack I am guessing that what I thought was the Pougues was actually the Dropkick Murphys.

What AD in their right mind would schedule back to back road games with Memphis then Vanderbilt...he should be fired!! Memphis will now be #1 in the AP poll...we will probably drop to 10th because the Press hates us...Duke, on the other hand can lose every other game and stays in the Top 5 consistently...We should have worn the Black Uni's against VANDY!!

Every week I say"This is the dumbest post Ive seen on this board"!!!

This is stupid! UT will be fine! Can they win the NC???? Yes! Are they the favorite???? NO! Whether ranked #1 or #5...a #1 seed or a #2 seed. Ut has a chance to do great things in the tourney

I think it was Pearl's idea to schedule Memphis for last Saturday...it was the only weekend that would secure college gameday for the Vols/Tigers. And even though he knew it would create a difficult stretch, he thought the national exposure was just too good to pass up.

He was right.
right fire pearl now:birgits_giggle::birgits_giggle::salute:

Please put the noose around your neck, and then kick the chair leg.

I'll help....I'll kick the chair leg for him.

#1MarylandVOL - Take a chill pill...it was just 1 game. Have you even checked the games remaining on the schedule of the other teams that you put ahead of us for a #1 seed? Other teams WILL lose games before the end of the season!

I don't know if I'd go as far as to blame anyone, but at #1 Memphis and then at #14 Vanderbilt in two days is definitely tough.

Definitely tough, but we had to play poorly to lose....and we did.

That's the thing...Vandy wasn't impressive.

They're getting tons of love today, but they weren't very good. I don't want to take away from what they accomplished...that's a very good win and it's great for their ncaa tournament resume.

But, other than Foster, they looked about as impressive as Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina. It took a great atmosphere and a miserable performance from Tennessee in order for Vandy to get that win.

I'm sure they're happy to have it (just as I was happy that UT got out of Baton Rouge victorious), but it was not all that impressive.

good god. you lose to vandy and still find away to take a dig at Duke.

UT will not drop out of the top 5. And they will win the SEC tourny.

Yep, Foster is a player (in his own gym). Last night he carried Vandy like we've seen Lofton do for Tennessee time and time again.

Actually the date was set by Memphis I believe since they were the home team. No way UT wants to play at Memphis in the middle of the SEC schedule. Memphis puts the game in there so they get a top opponent in the middle of their putrid conference schedule.

This game was originally scheduled for much earlier in the season but ESPN convinced UT and Memphis that if they played in late Feb that Gameday could be there. What I'm trying to say is that both teams originally wanted to and were going to play this game early in the season.

I have many reasons to like Duke and Coach K. Regardless, your avatar pains me on our Vol Board. That's no dig on Duke, it's a dig on your choice.
