The comments in this thread are disgusting, and the lengths to which many of you will go to in order to defend Peyton Manning are equally shameful.

1. Your opinion on Shaun King is irrelevant, given that he's literally quoting legal documents verbatim. This isn't an unfounded hit piece.

2. These are not "he said, she said" accusations. These are the testimonies of dozens of witnesses against stories that only Peyton and his father have corroborated.

3. It doesn't matter how long ago this occurred, given that the issue has been criminally under-discussed.

Come on. Why is this sub's initial reaction to dismiss allegations instead of considering that maybe the face of the NFL isn't a saint?

In response to the "we've all made mistakes" comments - it's hard to forgive Peyton for this when he's made no attempt to apologize, and has actually done quite the opposite in ruining Naughright's career

From reddit. The guy has a point. Just because he's a Vol does NOT make him a saint.

Might as well just arrest Peyton, Archie, Hart, Butch, Fulmer, Majors, and the bones of Robert Neyland, then teardown the stadium and make a reflecting pool for victims of sexual assault in its place IMO.

The guy has a history of sensationalism. It's easy to claim all these things when neither party can weigh in. How does he know that Peyton hasn't apologized? There's a ton of slant to push his agenda.

What a horrible day- news outlets are picking up this story about Peyton more by the hour. I always thought it was a mooning- apparently it was much more. I just don't understand why they would be so stupid to bring it BACK UP in the book and almost daring her to sue them a second time. Do you think major news outlets are going to pick up the story or back off? It's not like the story wasn't public in 2003 and in 2014 there was a blurb about it as I learned today, but much more detail today thanks to this Shaun King!

Eh. All of this stuff will blow over. There's a new sports scandal waiting to erupt somewhere else that will divert the media's attention.

I don't think Dieter is a difference-maker in the SEC. I thought his plays against us were a result of poor technique on the part of Moseley and Foreman, as well as terrific throws by Matt Johnson.

I keep CB on ignore for good reason but since I see he's deciding to go from wet blanket to safe spacer and criticize my post...

1. It does matter that Sean King is a hack. This is click bait journalism. Neither Peyton or Lil Jon have anything to do with this suit other than acting as a tool for lawyers to drum up interest.

2 and 3) It does matter that it was 20 years ago. It's no longer relevant to the discussion. I'm not defending Peyton. I just don't worry about a stupid locker room incident from 20 years ago any longer. I've made mistakes and so have you. 20 years is enough time to not have to sling crap at the guy anymore. In other words, NOBODY CARES.

Finally, nobody had a gun to the head of that trainer making her settle out of court. I would hope and guess that she has moved on.

By my count Catbone has made over 32,550 mistakes.
