He's a beast at WR. One of the worst uses of talent I've seen by a staff. Especially in an area that was searching for a playmaker. I don't believe he wasn't healthy all year either. Probably was pissed from Game 1 til the end of the season. And he had a right to be. IMO

Agree, though I do believe he was bothered by nagging injuries the severity remains in question and should / when he 'balls out at the next level more than just eyebrows will be raised

"Looks like NO settlement and UT wants to fight this"

"Drae Bowles testified under oath he wasn't assaulted and this is being used for shock value"

"No player has been convicted and the university feels they have taken great efforts to prevent these type of issues"

Welp, this is going to drag out it looks like. :ermm:

I like the 2001 and 2005 squads. '01 squad D-line was ridiculous talent wise.
'01 was really good and could definitely be argued. '05 season was a waste of an elite defense.

Many of those '01 guys were playing a lot in '99, which is why I consider it the best and deepest.

We had four future NFL DTs with Darwin Walker, John Henderson, Haynesworth, and Rashad Moore. Ellis and Overstreet at DE.

Raynoch, Westmoreland, Dominique Stevenson, Eddie Moore, Keyon Whiteside at LB.

Grant, Fred White, Goodrich, Lott, and Gaines in the secondary.

Certainly a calculated move by the university. I would be more concerned if they were quick to settle. This shows that they are confident the lawyers won't be able to dig up any dirt or make it worse than the initial allegations appear to be.

Very serious deal, but this is good IMO, especially if ut feel's they can win. Something has got to happen to stop these types of deals and if ut wins, knowing that they did everything right to prevent future occurrences, then this is a big deal

I just hope all this is heard as loudly as the **** that was spewed.

At this point, it can get worse but it can't really get much better in terms of public perception. The damage is already done.

Right, I mean who else did Peyton Manning moon that we don't know about?

I think UT should fight this. If the ladies are correct it will come out in court. If not, then we will have stopped "blackmail". That will discourage anyone else from doing the same. If these charges are proved to be true, then we will have learned a lesson from this and can correct any problems the University may have.
I am a father of two daughters so I take this very seriously. I am not belittling this what-so-ever.

That's a good thing.I am glad we are going to fight it.I have thought thru the whole AJ and Williams deal that the program handled everything correctly. The school should not even be involved in matters like this anyway.

The worst report was that the coaches stood by and let Drae get beat up while they watched. Of course, in all this reporting, nobody looked to see that he had already testified under oath that it didn't happen.

This is along the lines of how I feel about it too.

What "type of deals"?

On the vast majority of college campuses, football players and co-eds have been drinking and having sex for the last 75 years.

Nothing like good responsible journalism.People should be put in jail for writing stuff like that. It's hard to believe we live in a country that refuses to hold these irresponsible journalist accountable.

Zero accountability for journalists now. Not even their editors care as long as the story drives ads/clicks.
