I'm not buying that Talib did it intentionally. Maybe, but the guy was nearly past him and there was not much he could grab hold of but the panther WR's facemask.

We need to see 3 areas of improvement if we are getting to Atlanta this December.

1) pass blocking - I think this is the key to improvement in the pass game. The tackle position must be solidified. Preferably with a tackle and not a guard playing tackle. I know everyone assumes DR steps into this role but he is an unknown at this point. Let's hope he has a great offseason.

2) defensive tackle - we've got to improve at DT. We did not get enough push in the interior last year. I think we have enough talent at DE to do some serious damage but we've got to collapse the pocket to remove the QB's ability to step up into the pocket when pressure comes from the end. We need better DT play.

3) safety - secondary will be improved talent wise this fall but we need someone to step up into a leadership position back there and fill BR shoes.

TKjr is the leader back there. We'll be fine on the back end.

Man he kinda kept slinging him facemask and all through the sideline. I personally wouldn't have minded seeing him tossed for that mess. He turned the dudes head completely around and made it a very dangerous tackle. Flat out dirty play that has no place in football.

uhh....

"(The face-mask penalty) I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him. It's probably going to be a fine, but, hey, we're world champs," Talib told reporters, according to Brent Schrotenboer of USA TODAY.

We were a 4th and 14 stop away from getting to Atlanta this year. I think we can get there with more aggressive play-calling on defense, just marginal improvement in the passing game, and a continuation of last year's phenomenal performances rushing the ball and in the return game.

They already opened their wallets to address the first thing and I got confidence that Jones and co. will do what it takes to take care of the rest.

I thought so too, but I bet he wouldn't have gotten a flag if he had kept his helmet on. I think that is the line he crossed on that play. The jawwing and shoving was mutual and wouldn't have gotten a flag, imo.

There should have been a flag on the Panthers after Miller made that sideline tackle.

Wasn't a desperation play, dude just did it being dirty as hell. He was already talking noise with Brown earlier.

If black and white on the rules yes, but then imagine if every like call was made. Game length is already under scrutiny. Thought when the Ref turned and issued a warning was sufficient

I don't think you see a player come from ten feet away on the sidelines to push a player for a clean hit that many time in games.

So admission to the spring game is free, right? Wife and daughter out of town that weekend and was thinking of driving down with my boys for it. Worth a 12 hour trip?

So I asked this question yesterday and it either wasn't clear or got lost in the .....um....discussion. Worth a 12 hour drive to go to the spring game or no? I have 3 boys 11-15 that I would be bringing.
Plus, it is on my birthday. :)

If you could go for the whole weekend then I would. It will be a fun and unforgettable time with your boys.
