We need to see 3 areas of improvement if we are getting to Atlanta this December.
1) pass blocking - I think this is the key to improvement in the pass game. The tackle position must be solidified. Preferably with a tackle and not a guard playing tackle. I know everyone assumes DR steps into this role but he is an unknown at this point. Let's hope he has a great offseason.
2) defensive tackle - we've got to improve at DT. We did not get enough push in the interior last year. I think we have enough talent at DE to do some serious damage but we've got to collapse the pocket to remove the QB's ability to step up into the pocket when pressure comes from the end. We need better DT play.
3) safety - secondary will be improved talent wise this fall but we need someone to step up into a leadership position back there and fill BR shoes.
I am going to say this one time. NFL players are required, by contract, to face the media. You can argue about that all you want, but it's like not agreeing with the speed limit on a street. That's the deal. They get paid millions because the media wants to see you and the fans want to watch. Sure, some of the media are clowns. But if you remove the media, then you can remove the tv, radio, paper, and just remove all of the money.
Win or lose, take it like a pro and answer questions. Sure, you can be disappointed. We all have feelings, but do your job. I don't care if it's Cam or Peyton or Spurrier or Butch, I would be disappointed if any of them didn't answer the questions and do it right.
It's very easy to get up and answer questions when you win, but you also have to do it when you lose. Shows your character, but you can learn from it. They are called "professionals" for a reason.
That's it.
UT needs to find out whatever jet fuel the Broncos are feeding Ware and Miller and invest in some immediately. Those guys are shot out of a cannon every single play. It's really fun to watch.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't consider the facemask a dirty play. It's the Super Bowl and you're trying to keep the guy out of the endzone. In that moment I don't think he said, "I'm gonna grab this guy's facemask." I'm pretty sure he's trying to get him down and grabbing anything he can get ahold of.

This and I would add WR production as the fourth. I want to see the WR's get separation from the d-backs and quit dropping passes. A few of them need to learn to lay their bodies on the line for the team, especially if they plan to play at the next level. Attack the dang ball instead of expecting the perfect pass to fall in their hands. If they do this Dobbs will gain more confidence he does not have to be perfect with each pass and the whole team will respond.

The spin move Miller put on the RT was a thing of beauty. They definitely need to learn how they are blowing by the offense of player antiques that to Barnett I know they didn't get in the backfield every play but it sure seem like it. I'm sure the offensive tackles for the Panthers really would have liked to hug and hold them like OT's seem to do to Barnett.
Talib 100% grabbed and threw the receiver down with malicious intent by his face mask. His prior pattern of behavior does not warrant him benefit of the doubt in those types of situations.
Yeah. No doubt. Here's his quotes.
"(The face-mask penalty) I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him. It's probably going to be a fine, but, hey, we're world champs," Talib told reporters, according to Brent Schrotenboer of USA TODAY.
Talib pointed out that the penalty didn't mean much in terms of field position.
"My teammates knew what it was," Talib said. "(Brown) was on the 3-yard line. (After the) personal foul, he was on the 1-and-a-half-yard line. So it is what it is."

Okay fine, it was dirty and intentional. It was still the logically play to make. I can't remember the last time I saw a guy thrown out for a facemask penalty. Maybe there should be a stiffer penalty for a personal foul penalty inside the 10.
