Typical. If I were you, I would pass the buck too.
From wikipedia:
Neoconservatives typically advocate the promotion of democracy and promotion of American national interest in international affairs,
Now please explain to me how that doesn't fit Rubio?
lol at pass the buck. Like I was the one tossing around that term as a slam any time I thought I could get away with it. And yes, it is a slam whether you intended it or not.
But you really lost the battle when you have to dive into wiki to find a definition for something that cannot be clearly defined. Because by their definition, practically every President we've had for the past 100 years has been a neocon. And the full, unaltered definition:
The term "neoconservative" refers to those who made the ideological journey from the anti-Stalinist Left to the camp of American conservatism. Neoconservatives typically advocate the promotion of democracy and promotion of American national interest in international affairs, including by means of military force, and are known for espousing disdain for communism and for political radicalism.
Political radicals? Gee, I couldn't imagine hearing about the radical right wing fringe about every five seconds from the DNC during election cycles. But about espousing American democracy...
Obama's done it. W certainly did it. Clinton did it. H.W. Bush did it. Reagan did it. Carter did it even after he left office. Ford wasn't in long enough to do it. Nixon did it. Johnson certainly did it. Kennedy was guilty as well. Eisenhower...the list goes on.
Now if you toss in military foreign aid to nations, even Rand Paul meets your criteria. Because even he's not dumb enough to go after that sacred cow after he got bit in the ass over it in 2011.
But the overall, overwhelming point is you use the term neocon in regards to Rubio. But do little to back that up except toss out a website that's so overwhelmingly pro-Hillary it's sickening. And if you want, I can go back and counterpoint almost everything that article says. Take Yemen for example. They claim Rubio is anxious to put "boots on the ground" in the fight in Yemen. Rubio supported using Special Forces embedded against the Al Qaeda backed rebels. But the way that website makes it sound, Rubio is planning on dropping the 82nd Airborne in and having B-2s bombing the crap out of someone.
You use neocon as a slur against anyone that isn't non-interventionist. And even though Rand Paul supports military aid to Israel as well as a war in South Korea if the North attacked and arming the Kurds, he's still your guy. But even you admit he's a neocon enough to make you shudder. Likely because you believe no war is necessary. According to you in the past, we could have and should have avoided WWII. I call your stance in that matter delusional and entirely ignorant of the historical facts surrounding the matter.
TL/DR, don't use the term neocon without expecting to get some facts tossed back in your face.
