Outside of Vandy Kentucky Missouri S Car, he'll eventually get every coach in the league fired until he leaves. Lol.

Was hoping he'd be gone to the NFL after this past NC.

Somewhat related, wasn't Kiffin a sure thing to be out at Bama?

Yes, several have said as much. There is still NSD to get through. It could be they didn't want to rock the recruiting boat.

IDT Kiffin's leaving Bama unless he's offered a HC gig... or decides to go back to the NFL. He'll be there another year, IMO-- which means another trip to Neyland.

Agreed. Bama fans are probably the most objective about it because they aren't in a position of paranoia about their own program. They remain solidly #1 in CFB.

UF, UGA, Arkansas, Auburn, and Ole Miss fans all have big question marks about their teams, which could easily be surpassed by UT in the near future. So it makes sense that they are adamant about how much Jones/the Vols suck and will continue to suck.

I have similar thoughts and experiences with the fans of those schools. Die hard Bammers are paying respect and starting to worry a bit. The others are in denial. Hog fans are as hard headed as their mascot.

Butch did two things to put me over the top in supporting him. The first was on the offensive side with Debord mixing in the lead blocker on the runs and willingness to go over the middle more with the pass. Their off season work on looking at Clemson, etc. is encouraging. The second is Butch going all in with Shoop. Shoop is big time and exactly who they need to take advantage of the talent on D. Big wake up call to the deniers is coming.

Ask Bama players which team they would have least liked to play again last year, most would say "Tennessee."

Ask them where they're least looking forward to playing this year, a lot will say "Neyland."

We're not an easy W for anybody this year. A strong recruiting class will put an exclamation mark on that.

Reggie Ragland said the toughest OL they faced was?????

Just ventured over to the FF and saw something about a new academic redshirt rule. Apparently, this was passed in 2012, but goes in to effect this year (impacting '17 recruits). The gist is that if your GPA or test scores are below a threshold, you have to redshirt your first year. Here is a link to an article from 2012 about it.

New incoming eligibility standards create term

The biggest compliment is when other players and fans hate Neyland. The more they hate coming to our house, the more they diss our fans and our colors, and the more they complain about Rocky Top, the more it feels we're back.

Kipp Adams knows he will have time to change that pick as Warrior isn't announcing til Wednesday.

If we start seeing some piggy-backing, then I'll start to worry.

It is my view that the average ESPN watching sports fan is tragically less informed than someone who watches zero sports.

Just because one passively watched a game, or dozens, or even hundreds of games, doesn't mean they understand anything. Ancient man watched the sun rise and fall for thousands of years before it was understood that the sun wasn't revolving around the earth. Of course, there were systems in place then, same as now, that violently resisted change. If a man suggested that the earth wasn't the center of the universe, he was claimed a heretic by those vested with controlling the narrative. ESPN is no different, that's why they hire former players who use meaningless stats to drive a conversation instead of statisticians to find meaningful stats to inform the conversation.

Agreed. Good post. I have become super anti-ESPN when it comes to any type of analysis or sports dialogue. They're basically Fox News. And that's probably going to make somebody mad that I said that. But both channels create and dwell on drama and odd story angles that ask you to turn you brain off and let them tell you what to think and which parts to focus on (Quarterbacks! Gay marriage! Immigrants!! Rah rah!). It distracts from the thoughtful potential conversations that could be taking place. But those types of conversations don't drive ratings. Which is a damn shame. It's all a big distraction to drive their agenda and make their wallets fat. And Americans are lopping it up like puppies.

Biggest thing to know is the gpa limit was 2.0 now it's a 2.3

If a player falls in the category of 2.0-2.3 where they wouldn't have been eligible before but aren't now they have to redshirt.

It's going to effect a lot of kids IMO.

10% is my guess

If we were to miss on Warrior (gasp!) and Brown but finished with Byrd, Kongbo and Dickerson.... Could we keep this place sane still? Or is the meltdown coming either way?
