Not that I know of. They have been talking about him possibly retiring on Atlanta radio for a few weeks now. I think most people think he was just tired of losing.

I thought he was wanting to be traded and if he wasn't he was just going to retire. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Put the situation in your shoes. If you had already made millions and millions of dollars for 9 years and your body is extremely sore to the point of almost not being able to move the next few days after a game to then playing a game the next week and reliving it all over, plus on top of that worrying about CTE which makes you go crazy and feel super depressed and want to hurt yourself or other people. Yeah most likely you would want to call it quits to. I completely respect his decision. I respect anyone's decision choosing health over money.

I meant wasted talent that he had to play for Detroit.

I realize that they can't be a 100% sure but I thought they could make a reasonable assumption based on symptoms?

I think they can actually. Dr. Amalu ( discovered CTE) was on the news yesterday and said he would be willing to bet his medical license that OJ Simpson has CTE. The disease is horrible. It sounded like from the article that Megatron was wanting to retire because his whole body was getting in bad shape, couldn't hardly walk days after the game and his ankles were horrible, with CTE being a possibility. They have found CTE in guys at 23 years old. I think if he is worrying about that it's probably to late. At this point he either has it, or is fortunate and doesn't. Only him and his family would know if he is showing symptoms of it or not.

Interesting comments from Welton on The Locker Room Show with VQ. They asked him about Drew Richmond recruitment as an example of craziness of the last weekend leading up to NSD.

Welton alluded to there being a lot of "powerful" people pulling Richmond all over the place that really had him confused. The final weekend was key to him seeing that the feeling he had for 2.5yrs that TN was the place he wanted to be really sank in. Welton said they knew Richmond always wanted to be at TN.

he is correct.

I really don't get the last-minute Moss push. If we wanted another RB, we could have made it a priority-- maybe even gotten back in it on Emmons. I would think Dickerson or Bailey, if we're focusing on D, would be a higher take.

I don't think Emmons has qualifying scores yet. Seems like Moss is only in if we miss on Brown or maybe Dickerson.

Emmons is rumored to have grade issues. Too big a risk given our limited numbers.

Edit: Got Volgee'd

Would everyone be shocked if Emmons signed with UT and Butch always had him in the fold as a mole at bama? Ask USC. They'll tell ya all about it.

Emmons was the ACT score, right? Barely missed qualifying and has to retake? Or was that somebody else?

edit: Looked it up. He's retaking his ACT on 2/6 and can retake it a few more times after that, if needed. Moot point-- we're not recruiting him.
