'16 AZ DE Jonathan Kongbo UT Signee 2/3/16

So, and please let me know if this is a stupid question, are we still in this? It seems odd that he was committed and has now decommitted. Then again, I haven't really been following recruiting...

Yes lately the 247 analysts are predicting he stays with his original commitment and signs with Tennessee. His parents wanted him to publicly reopen his commitment since he wanted to keep visiting. Pressure from Alabama and potentially a west coast school near home (Canada)

Yes, we are in it. He decommited because his parents didn't want him taking visits are a commit.

"This is the frustrating part of recruiting. I have texted with Kongbo on and off the last week. He's never said anything about Ole Miss still being in it. Today he's tweeted out a picture with Freeze and Freeze tweets out a pic that makes you wonder if went to Canada this evening to see the family.

Kongbo has not taken calls or responded to texts tonight."

Kongbos head is probably swimming from all this attention, hope he calms down by the start of next week and makes a level headed decision.

Me too. Never could figure out why a single black athlete would want to play for a school whose moniker is a Confederate Soldier...the guys who fought to preserve the institution of slavery. And don't tell me it wasn't about slavery. It damn well was. Slavery was the backbone of the Southern Economy. They knew anything that threatened their right to keep slaves, was a threat to their entire economy. They were so entrenched in it that it would cause a total economic collapse. That's why they were willing to take up arms for it.

The name "REBELS" attempts to glorify an ugly part of American history and glorify the losing side of it.

They still don't like African Americans in Mississippi.I work with a guy that was born and raised near Tupelo. He is educated and not what I would consider a back woods red neck at all.He still refers to them as subservient and beneath himself.Freeze and little Kiffin must really tell some tall tells to convince these kids to come play for ol colonel Reb.Beats all I've ever seen.
