'16 AZ DE Jonathan Kongbo UT Signee 2/3/16

Current players don't have a clue. Maybe if they are related or previous classmates. Otherwise they really don't know. Most don't have any insight on coaching changes either. The players are tight with each other and are more sheltered than you think.

I mean, it's possible that Kongbo talks with Taylor/KMack and said something that makes them think he's staying out West. But he's been fairly open with the recruiting analysts, and it seems unlikely that he would tell two players at UT who he's met once that he's not going to school there and wouldn't tell the recruiting reporters the same thing.

I guess, but these players are in school and in winter workouts. They are busy.

Love Kahlil. Not changing my thoughts on Kongbo because of a periscope. Too many experts reporting good things, including family ties.

Kongbo visiting FSU next weekend. That really concerns me, FSU really needs a kid like him and they will do hat must be done to get him.

Kahlil never said UT isn't getting Kongbo in his periscope. He said that "we're trying" and "Idk about Kongbo, I'm not him. I can't get inside of his head." He never said he wasn't coming here or anything close.

Kahlil said today on Periscope they were trying and he had actually talked to him today. He smiled when he said it, which I don't read into necessarily as a sign but at the same time I think if he was saying "no chance" it isn't going to be something to smile about. I feel good about Kahlil talking to him, roping guys in is what he became known for last year. Look at what he did with Drew Richmond. You never know

Does his family have same concerns of them like they did with TN before the Butili family intervened?

What the hell is a periscope and why are people watching college kids on it

Periscope is a social media app used by millions of people including news outlets & sports teams. The players were actually told by the coaching staff to get onto Periscope to broadcast for fans. The coaches are also on it. Cmon man, embrace technology it's not 1982 anymore (sadly).

I'm picturing the ballistic missile submarine the Red October on a massive flatbed trailer following Kongbo around. Sean Connery giving us recruiting updates via periscope. Obviously we have hit the big time.

I have a question. Why did he redshirt at Wyoming? I could understand bama, lsu, or tosu., but Wyoming. I can't believe they had that deep a def. end rotation. I even question why out of high school he ended up at Wyoming? just weird all around to me.

Could be wrong but I'm guessing it was because he hasn't played much football and was/is a bit raw..

^This. I think the football staff at his HS didn't get their mitts on him until the summer before his senior year.

Periscope will never beat out Betamax!
