Here's a quote from a Colorado site

"Jones had transferred to CU from Tennessee earlier this month; there is an NCAA rule that allows a student-athlete to return to the school he transferred from if he decides to do so within a 14-day window."

That is very interesting and I have never heard of this happening before. It must be the buyer's remorse law of football. I'll allow it.

Apparently sheriron Jones is coming back?

Ryan Koenigsberg – ‏@RyanKoenigsberg

Breaking: Colorado has released Sherrion Jones from his scholarship, he will return to Tennessee.

Boy, you guys sure know how to keep things interesting...I step away for not even 30 minutes....sheesh.

Technically, this will be a re-commitment from a re-recruit, right?

Both Callahan and Rucker have now tweeted that S. Jones is returning. Great news if it turns out to be true.

On S Jones...

"He had been seeking to return to UT for more than a week. Had gotten to Colorado and told people he realized it wasn't a good fit for him.

But, he had triggered a transfer status so his return to UT was predicated on Colorado being willing to release him.

Finally the Buffs have done so. Strong character move by that program, bc they lose an initial from having Sheriron for those few days.

Anyway, he has been readmitted to UT --- today is the drop-add deadline --- and is immediately eligible bc he is returning to his original school. Will be back in Knoxville this weekend and will be full-Go w/ classes & workouts next week.

This I am told was all Sheriron. He called Butch Jones and others on staff, hat in hand, said he made a mistake and wanted to return. And now he is."

Gonna have to earn back the trust of coaches and teammates, but welcome back SJ.

No doubt. I figured he would be number 3 behind Dormady and Guarantano after Dobbs is gone. Now even more so. Having him this year is a good thing though. He can sit at #3 and JG can RS for sure.
