You obviously take Kongbo if he wants to come. The whole "it's not in his best interest to come to UT" thing is just dumb when you're talking about elite 5-star guys (other than maybe QBs). We have some good depth at DE, but if he is good enough to be one-and-done, he's good enough to start at UT next year. Period. If he isn't good enough to be one-and-done, then he may be overrated by the recruiting sites, but he will still have an opportunity to play and develop, unless he's just a lot worse than we think--in which case, it wouldn't matter where he goes.

If Butch takes Kongbo, I have no problem with it. What I an saying is if I'm Kongbo, I'm not coming to UT with their DE depth. Fans always want elite depth 5-6 deep everywhere. Fact is its just not in the recruits best interest. Especially if you're a Juco signee.

He said Saban guaranteed him a starting spot. Now we all know what that really means. Kongbo seemed to actually believe him. Maybe the DE not declaring for the draft clarifies where he would actually stand on bamas depth chart.

Its a free trip man. Free food...free gifts...free events. Hell it's for fun if for nothing else. If I was a top recruit I'd be going to Miami and Hawaii for sure then the other schools I was really interested in. :good!:

After Curt got hurt, Barnett started playing alot of WDE opposite Lewis. I could easily see the staff shifting Barnett to WDE permanently and starting Kongbo at SDE.

I personally like a Kongbo/Barnett starting lineup versus Barnett/Vereen.

Regardless it would be malpractice for any coach recruiting this kid not to give him a serious sell job on starting
