You've got to weight his scores with the average of PSUs recruiting classes which haven't been as good post-Paterno. Then you need to weigh their scores with their Strength of Schedule and then finally add in personal Recruiting score and possibly an ethics score/full monty vetting...no more Donnie Tyndal's!

As far as Jancek goes... I personally think he has done reasonably well since he has been here. The D has progressed some each year and 2016 could be its "coming of age" moment. Frankly, I'd be pissed if I were Jancek if I felt like my hard work was about to pay off for someone else.


If this really is Jancek with these retweets he is pissed and I can't say I blame him... But as the DC all those "4th and Jancek" plays are his responsibility.

We blew 4 games 2 with leads less than 2 mins to go in game. Idk. I feel for guy but u r paid big money to win heck I don't make squat yet I'm expected to produce or will be fired.that's a fact so I can't feel too bad for the guy

Butch wouldn't let him go without a plan that was already well underway. For every program loss off the field, be it recruit decommit or transfer, there was always good news right behind it. This isn't a bajakian situation, jancek was let go. I'd wait for an announcement by Friday or right before/after the NC game.

Simple test to see which guy is right for us: ask him "how do you defend when the other team brings in one of their wide receivers to take over as QB?" The right guy will know how. :good!:

Rushing only 3 on the play + the soft coverage = disaster. I don't know why DC's do that BS on critical downs. It is such a low percentage call.

Watch great defenses in the NFL. They usually don't go into prevent mode, but instead blitz, to apply overwhelming pressure in 3rd and 4th and long situations. When watching the Titans' last game this week, you could see them blitz EVERY time in that situation.

Not saying we should have blitzed on that play, but at least 4 down linemen. Janzek also kept his starters out on the field for far too many snaps and didn't do anything to change it. Even Barnett needs some rest now and then, and Janzek almost never gave him any

I think it's important to remember it's not about how this defense improved over 3 years as much as it is what volquest writers referenced which is the fact that butch Jones is not satisfied with a real good defense coordinator he wants a championship coordinator so whether we debate how good jancek was and I think he was very solid is he a championship type coordinator. That is what butch is looking for and he doesn't feel jancek is that. And we did loose 4 games where we led in all of them and lost leads when we shouldn't have and 2 if them with less than 2 minstrel to go. Regardless of how conservative the offense got

Definitely had breakdowns at key spots in big games, particularly on 4th down, that negatively impacted the season. That being said, the stats say the performance of the defense improved a lot over his 3 years here.....from 84th in total defense in 2013 to 36th this year.

I'll agree that the defense has got to make those plays especially on the 4th down situations. But CBJ and DEBORD hopefully learned you can't be conservative that's what killed us early on. They were just hoping time would run out and the would win... I like the mindset of, some people like/want to win, and some people hate to lose. I want a team that Hates to lose and will fight and hammer down to avoid losing at all cost.

I agree we got conservative I'm just saying I believe butch doesn't feel we can win a national title with him leading our defense
