i'm starting to get on board with Marion Hobby.....that could be a good deal right there.

There is BS that comes through here based on anonymous sources... but some of the best info also comes from the anonymous player(s).

Jancek's results were mediocre so that was a contributor... but there almost had to be other factors.

IMO, there is a good chance that his handling of players was part of it.

Thankfully, I believe there is little chance of this happening. Chavis doesn't recruit well. I also do not believe him to be the "rock star" coach that so many of you do. In fact, he seemed a lot like Jancek to me.

But the biggest reason I do not think he is the guy is that he doesn't seem to fit Jones' preferred profile for an assistant.

We are currently at no. 24 on 247. We'd have to rack up a couple of 5*'s and about 4 4*'s to get close to top 10 this year, but anything is possible.

maybe not, but as CODC with Venebles, the way he's recruited, to me, he feels like a Kirby Smart type of guy, in that he's been consistent, he's been in a system for a while, i feel pretty good about him probably being ready for the next step, and probably being a steady performer.

plus, he's a good recruiter, and in the end, everyone that's ever had a job, had to do it for the first time.......sometime.

Yes, you are the only one. Well at least I hope you are as that "thought" is simply incorrect. Shoop is a top 5 DC nationally. Jancek is somewhere from slightly above average to pretty good. Shoop is elite.

He called plays with Cut during his time at Duke. Apparently, Cut loves the guy too.

Because we all know one game defines a coaching career and ability? Should we have applied that theory with Butch losing to Dooley?? Chizik would be a solid hire.
