Yeah but that's with only 21 commits. 10 of the top 15 last year had at least 25 commits. 6 of them took at least 27. Only FSU (#3) and UCLA (#12) took 20 or less last year.

It would be a really good class, although I would like to see another DE.

Still, not close to a top 5 class. Average star ratings possibly.

Stop being a drama queen. You wouldn't be posting so much to the recruiting forum of Volnation if you didn't care where these players go to college. You hope they choose Tennessee and are disappointed when they don't. That's not weakness. That's being a fan of a team. Is it a big deal for any of us? Of course not but if you didn't care then you wouldn't be here.

Contrary to a lot other folks I think we get at least brown and warrior. Especially brown you can just tell in the wording of the articles. Exactly what our coaches seem to be selling just has volunteered feel

I hope they come here but I don't get disappointed if they don't. This might be a hard concept for you to grasp but some of us know better than to let the whims of high school kids affect us.

If he signs good. If he doesn't so what. Doesn't change my life either way.

Again, you're being a drama queen. I didn't say that it changed your life. It doesn't change my life or anyone's life on VN for that matter. Just like when I watch Tennessee's games - it doesn't change my life when they lose but I am disappointed. There is middle ground between having something 'change my life' and being disappointed with an outcome.

Plus even if you don't believe me, why do you care if I get disappointed? This would be my emotions. How would my disappointment because of dashed expectations affect you?

I never understood the don't get too happy because you might get disappointed police.

You are making a bigger deal of my post then what was intended. I was just pointing out the long shot of us signing either Hardman or Corley and that VN does get really negative when we miss on players that we didn't have much chance with anyway.

You should know by now I'm not negative. I've been accused of being the #1 sunshine pumper. Hell we could not sign another player this cycle and I wouldn't turn negative.

I did the same thing you did... Added Dickerson, Warrior, Brown, and Mykel Jones and came out to 14th.. Based off last years finish.. That's hitting on all of them. Top 15 would be a "strong" finish

Only way we are top 5 is star average. I'd be very happy with that but no one calls that a top 5 class nationally or 3 years from now. If we finish top 12 I'll be thrilled.

The math says it's nearly impossible to have a top 5 class only taking 22. Look at USC's class in 2013. They signed 5 5*, 7 4*, and 0 3* for a total of 12 signees and only finished 13th of Rivals. Their average star rating was 4.42! Anything inside the top 15 this year is a very good finish and a good job by the staff.

Florida state did it taking 20 last year... 22 isn't a small class that everyone keeps saying... If that's the number

You do know 247 isn't the only service. Rivals only counts the top 20. If we land all our big targets left (Warrior, Dickerson, Brown, Hardman, and Laguins), I'm sure we'd be securely in the top 10.

DE doesn't worry me too much, especially if we can keep Phillips and Mixon around until 2017, I think we'll be ok there. A rotation of Phillips/Taylor/Mixon/Butcher with the possibility of Austin Smith and Bituli being added to the mix should be a really solid lineup. I still think the staff finds another DE to hop on board before signing day anyway.

But if we don't, then it does make DE a really important position for the 2017 class.
