Wow!
@darrenrovell: Bama strength & conditioning coach Scott Cochran after battle to keep him will likely make $600K next season https://t.co/oDLeEzxeYG
Auburn Alumni told me if Gus loses today he's out.
Kevin Steele might want to wait to confirm that story. I think Memphis wins today.
That doesn't make sense to me. Why would a bowl game against Memphis decide his fate? If they wanted to make a move, they would have done it a month ago.
I just heard the Auburn Rivals guy on Memphis radio, and he said Gus will be on the hot seat next year regardless. But, a win makes you feel good during the offseason.
I said it last year when some posters were pining for him to "save us". The dude's a mad genius X's and O's hermit who is totally not interested in the aspects of program building, such as recruiting and high school/alumni relationships. Bellotti built the infrastructure of that at Oregon and Kelly had "people" handle the majority of that when he took over. Was surprised at his power grab last season but I suspect it was more about final say over his roster than it was about vision...since the personnel dude that was fired with him directed the scouting and handled contracts. All Kelly wants to do is draw up plays in his laboratory and unleash them on opponents. Boosters, alumni, hell! even FANS are canker sores. NFL is the shangri-la for Belichick types and Kelly is a variation of that...minus the personnel acumen.
You also never hear ex players bashing belichick. I think belichick and Saban are more player friendly than they lead on. They know that players win games, not coaches

I heard ex players bash both...Todd Collins for Bill and Plaxico Burress for Saban...impossible to avoid but you're right, not an inordinate amount. Of course both have two to three times the HC experience. Kelly was a longtime assistant...much of it logged at the lower division college level.
Lot of Tennessee plates and a sea of orange heading into Florida. It's like a Big Orange Caravan-- UT flags flying, horns honking, Gator fans flipping us off. Good times!
