Manning linked to HGH by Documentary (key witness has recanted)

Mr.SLY you're going to need one hell of a lawyer, sounds like according to the ESPN article above this one has been shot down.

How is this even a concern? It's several years old and there's no proof that he took them while playing in the NFL!

It's not like he stole crab legs from publix, shot up his college campus with BB guns or raped a coed and then had his roommates cover it up and lie about it so he wouldn't spend years in jail.

If Manning did take PED's to help him recover is that against the rules in the NFL at the time?

You can always tell when libtards lose an arguement, they result to name calling because they cannot dispute the fact that this article was produced by a trashy news source with an agenda! You lost dude!
:thud::loco:

I appreciate the irony of this post.

Prior to this I thought al-jazeera did some pretty good reporting. However if it can be shown that this sly guy didn't even work there in 2011 then that is pretty bad journalism. Even if manning did use hgh during 2011 (while he want playing, and before it was banned) I don't think anyone who watched him in 2012 season could say he came back bigger stronger or faster than 2010. his strength has been significantly decreased since 2011 which makes his accomplishments in 2013 that much impressive.

All SLY did was talk **** to an "undercover" reporter he was messing with. When he retracted and they ran with it ANYWAY? Al-Jazeera better have some of that Bin-Laden commercial money left in it's coffers. :pinch:

For the people saying it was shipped to his wife, so peyton didn't take it. Why would a mother of 2 kids have any interest in HGH lol.

It has not been confirmed that HGH shipped to her/him at all...just "products." Also, HGH is an "anti-aging" product that some people use for weight loss and skin rejuvenation, so it's not unusual to consider a woman using it.

That said, Sly has recanted completely and there isn't any other credible evidence.

When I read this "news" yesterday, I felt sucker punched. I don't think there's another player or coach who embodies the Volunteer spirit and the Vol for Life concept, so this was quite unsettling. Even when (if) this rumor is completely denounced, the Peyton haters will have ammunition forever. Disgusting and sad.

I will need much more proof than a story that has already been recanted!

Unless there is a postive drug test by the NFL, it didn't happen!

Why not? Or why should we? Or who cares. Or perhaps if the fox rakers had ran with the startling expose it would have been more fair and balanced. Truth in journalism, is there any?

That's not a consideration anymore. Peyton has answered the charge by saying it's all garbage and there were no HGH or PEDs ever, period eos. There's no wiggle room for his legacy after that.

Thing is, Peyton is too smart to make denials like that unless he is in the clear. I believe that wholeheartedly.

And let me add...if the newyork times or Washington post pick up the story, there will really be some credibility issues

Edit: also, are you really equating Al-Jazeera, a mouthpiece of MiddleEastern totalitarian/dictatorial regimes on par with Pravda, with FoxNews, which has dared to actually deviate from every other media outlet in the country and offer a conservative opinion (although much less and less lately) and include news stories that a person with a conservative political view would consider newsworthy as opposed to the other media outlets that go full-on full liberal 100% of the time. Come on man.

The person quoted in the story admitted he made it all up is what I understood by skimming this thread

That correct?

He posted a weird video of himself recanting the whole story and then took it down.

It's the same thing people said about Lance Armstrong- that he would never do something to tarnish his reputation. Completely valid if that's the reasoning.

Except it's not. They are two different people and one has been proven to be a bold-faced liar who happened to beat cancer. In my opinion, you are making a comparison between the two and you have no foundation upon which to make that assumption.

Even if he did take it, which I don't think he did, who cares. It is his body. People need to get off their high horse about PED usage and realize the usage among collegiate and pro athletes is exceptionally high.

Besides, HGH is primarily for recovery. Sure, it will help you get bigger once you reach a certain stage in development, but it takes awhile.

If you guys really want to pretend that most professional athletes aren't using something to give them a competitive edge, even if it's illegal by law or NFL rule, then by all means, go ahead.

Have you seen these ppl in real life? You don't just look like that and perform like that with only eating fiber and working out.

Personally, I think they should let these guys "juice" on whatever they want. It's their bodies. Made baseball a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Has done the same for the NFL, they've just gotten lucky longer.

What I think is a crock, is when we need to waste tax dollars on congressional hearings into whether or not some guy cheated at his job. That'd be like Betty Jo punching out at The Walmart for Betty Sue bc the latter wanted to get out an hour early, and then having a congressional hearing where we judge BS and BJ's character for 6 months, spending millions.

Would you guys ever use illegal means to feel better? to perform your job better for a raise? to love your significant other better? hell, to have a good time?
Have you ever lied on a job application or to your boss? Stole something from work? took a long lunch?

This PED stuff is out of hand. It's a witch hunt for ppl to say, Peyton wouldn't have been Peyton without HGH, or Barry Bonds wouldn't have hit HRs without PEDs. That's BS and you know it. But to compete for years, on THAT stage, with guys that are cheating and getting away with it, you gotta do what you gotta do.

As the saying goes, "a man's game charges a man's price". There is a dark side to life, and professional sports, that people refuse to see. These are the people that think their 5 year old should be able to watch grown men play a violent game but hear no offensive language. It's willfull, blissfull, ignorance.

There's too much money at stake for me to believe that medical staffs aren't going right up to the line with supplements, drugs etc. and over the line when they know they can get away with it.
