Manning linked to HGH by Documentary (key witness has recanted)

The ESPN article makes it sound like the pharmacist, Charlie Sly (what a name!), was doing some name dropping and trying to impress an undercover reporter who was trying to get some dirt on some American athletes. He has basically admitted to making the whole thing up. He didn't even work at that pharmacy in 2011 and admits he has never seen Peyton Manning. Mike Tyson was also named which is just weird. Tyson lives in Vegas, would he have to use a pharmacy in Indiana to get HGH if he wanted?

The article calls out multiple issues with the claim and cites the retraction. Not sure what the problem is?

The pharmacist making the claims was a student at the Guyer Institue, not even an employee. On top of that he is now saying he was a student there in 2013, not 2011. And never even saw Manning. It should be real easy to determine when he was actually interning there. If it was indeed 2013 this is a complete non-story.

heartbreaking if true..... but i'll always believe he's the best.... but this is hard to swallow

With a user name like yours', I understand how you feel. This story is falling apart faster than it came together, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hang in there man.

The Huffington Post? LMAO! I wouldn't believe one sentence from that liberal rag. They just had one of their own caught making up stories.

My God y'all can't see the forest for the trees on this.

Not once have I taken a position that the claims are valid or given a personal opinion about Al-Jazeera. It's like you hear code words and Toby Keith starts playing in your brain.

I love this bar, and my red solo cup, too.

On the sidebar from AL Jazeera's website it says: "Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit does not report the news. It makes the news."

Made up.

This does demonstrate how easy it is to smear someone... especially when it's an athlete who is going to have many people eager to believe it. Fans who are of a mind to dislike and believe the worst in Manning anyway (such as Patriot fans and fans that don't like Tennessee) are in a celebratory mood over an allegation that even the accuser has now denied.

OP, please edit your post to include the article by ESPN.

It basically throws a giant bucket of water on the whole fire. The guy didn't work at the Guy Institute when PM was a patient there. That alone should tell us that it was all a hoax. How could he have sent Ashley Manning drugs if he didn't even work there at the time.

This is just dumb. Here's the link to add, if you feel so inclined.

Documentary links Peyton Manning, other pro athletes to use of PEDs
