If someone wants to make a thread, we are apparently back in it with Carlos Becker. He is In the UA All-American game.

Number 1 pick in a year there isn't a clear cut Gamechanger to draft

I'm leery of Webster's ability to draft. He's batting less than .500. He's far better in free agency but that's not saying much. So they could trade and get lots of picks or go after a CB or WR. But who drafts CBs No. 1 overall?

Are they talking about getting him in town for a visit? Looks like he is visiting OleMiss the weekend before signing day.

He has 1200 yards at Hutchinson so he has a little more than this year. Not against top competition but probably enough to get him a 4-5th round grade.

It doesnt sound like whether or not he gets a good grade. Its more of can he improve what he gets by staying another year behind Hurd or will he get the same grade next year.

Part of it is about exposure though. If we make an SEC championship/playoff run, he will get a lot more exposure than he got this year. Hype can bump you a few rounds.

Not sure. I'm not a 247 member so I can't read the whole update.

The meat and potatoes part:

The three-star senior cornerback from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Fla., said he’s currently planning to use his three remaining visits to travel to Florida State the weekend of Jan. 16, Ohio State the weekend of Jan. 23 and Ole Miss the weekend of Jan. 30. But Tennessee recently has moved back into the picture and is hoping to get one of his final visits.

Becker said it might be “kind of hard for me to drop an official” that he currently has planned and visit Tennessee instead. His planned trips to Ohio State and Florida State in particular seem to be a bit more set in stone.

But he’s not ruling out the possibility he could visit the Vols.

“They’re trying to make me drop an official for them, but I didn’t know what to do. It would be kind of hard for me to drop an official,” said Becker, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 483 overall prospect and No. 44 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2016 class.

“I know I’m going to take Ohio State. I know I’m going to take Florida State. But, I mean, if the coaches from Ole Miss, they get their guys and stuff like that, then I’m going to take it to Tennessee, most definitely.”

So After seeing Brandon Browner get flagged for launching at Calvin Johnson, I wonder if the NFL wouldn't get farther by removing the offending player from the field for the rest of the drive.

I still think relaxing PI rules is the way to limit concussions but it'll never happen.

La Canfora's track record on these type things is about as good as Tony Basilio's on coaching searches.

I'm not holding my breath but I am definitely interested to see how this shakes out.

La Canfora is a dolt. He has put out too much misinformation about the Titans ownership situation. Kuharsky at ESPN has destroyed him on the radio by stating he is just throwing junk out and hoping it sticks.

Is Canfora the one who said Gruden was putting together a staff for UT?

Not even going to let me have a potentially happy thought about the Titans are you? :)

I like the idea of requiring the tackler to attempt to wrap up in an effort to reduce concussions/injuries. It's simple, it's fundamental, and there'd be less gray area then current targeting/launching rules.
